Editorial Review for The Whisky Bar – by Helen Freund

In Short
Well removed from the rest of the Belltown club scene, this British-owned dive bar is a fresh breath of air. All of the typical highlights are present: pool tables and a jukebox in the back, a rowdy clientele that often needs soothing and boisterous bartenders who will cut you off at a whim. Dim, red lighting is coupled with walls showcasing moody portraits of sultry femme fatales.

Insider Tips

Save Money

No need to pick just one happy hour--this one goes from 3pm to 9pm daily and offers $1 PBRs and $2 wells.

When to Go

Grab a drink before the show: across the street from the bar lies one of Seattle's oldest and most esteemed venues--the Moore Theater.

Know Before You Go

Grab a friend, grab a pint and grab a seat--fast. Summer days the outside patio fills up quick. Colder days usually leave ample space to lounge in one of the booths inside.

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

I just turned 21 and the Whisky was one of the first places I went- and I loved it! It's cool and |aid back, and has a rock-n-roll feel to it. It was much better than the other, snooty places on 2nd. A place for rockin' guys and grrls and good drinks, too!

Pros: Good drinks, service is alright, music

Cons: Parking is bad, don't drive!

i've been here twice and both times i've left with a sour taste in my mouth. the bartender was extremely rude, homely and impatient. a guinness and two long islands cost $22 and they don't accept credit cards. the music is too loud you have to shout to your friends to have a conversation. this place is basically an extremely overpriced divebar with awful service and so-called punk-rockers that all look like they're going to shoot themselves. enjoy!
