Best hardwood floor installer and refinisher in Seattle area
by pidcockw at Citysearch
Ken has been in the business for many years and has done it all. He continually looks for ways to improve and treats each job as a new opportunity to do his best. For example, he creates a custom formula for his sealers and stains based on what is best for the job.
He is a man of his word and does what he says he will do for the price that he quotes. Several minor surprises showed up on our job that Ken easily accommodated and didn't charge extra for: matching stain colors across fir, white oak, and red oak flooring; dealing with deep scratches, cracks, and uneven floors; and hand sanding in tight spaces like closets and corners.
He is a low overhead and low margin operation so I recommend paying by cash or personal check instead of debit/credit card.
My wife talked with several friends who had their floors redone by various contractors before we went with Mt. View Hardwood Floors, Inc. Ken was highly recommended (the others weren't) and now we too highly recommend him. He is honest, hard working, and will give you great value for your money.
Avoid Ken!!! Disaster in Woodinville
by avoidken99 at Citysearch
Avoid Ken and his inept work....We tried to get him back to repair mismatched stain in places and he would not return phone calls or answer the phone....Very unprofessional....We now have a hardwood floor that looks aweful because there are sections that dont match....For the money paid I would have expected a much more professional job...seriously avoid these guys.
Unauthorized credit card charge

The work Ken did was great installing my hardwoods. But charging my credit card money I did not authorize was not ok. Watch Out.
A Very Good Wood Flooring Contractor
by Edward Corker at Citysearch
I have known Ken for several years. He has done our floors twice and will be doing them a third time due to water damage (No fault of Ken). He workshard, fast, efficiently, does a good job and cleans up well. Keeps schedules for most part but be sure to book long in advance as he is popular. He will keep to a schedule. Works well with insurance adjusters...gets "our way!" Call me for a reference if you want. I am in Newcastle...must look up on directory assistance as number is unpublished. I am not putting it here because I woant you to show a little effort if you want a personal recommendation. Ken is good.
- Pros: Knows his products. Does Good Work. Good value for the $$$
- Cons: some traits like any good busy contractor...scheduling
What great work! 2009

We got burned on a wood floor install and then refinish after water damage. So we were quite anxious to have anyone touch the floors. We did not know who we could trust. But, Ken came through and the crew did a really nice job. I am thrilled to see all the problems from the past refinish job fixed and now the floor is beautiful!! Thanks, Ken.
