slightly disappointed, will not return. I had wanted to visit the Hi-Life for a while and finally today my boyfriend and I decided to go for breakfast. We were greeted at the door, sat by the cold brick wall and were quickly given water and menus. So far, acceptable. I loved the interior and the menu had plenty of options. I decided to order the one thing that brought me down there from taking a peek on the website, the Cleanup on Aisle 12 Hash. Our food arrived fairly quickly and I dove right in, immediately stopping to feel the grit of sand in every chew. I thought maybe it was a fluke and tried another bite to find the same appalling feeling of eating sand. I tried yet a third bite and finally gave up. We were asked how the food was and my boyfriend said he thought something was wrong, and I let her know the food was inedible. She apologized, quickly took it away and asked what else she could get for me. Though I wanted to try something else, I refused to take the chance. We were not charged for my meal and quickly left. It was probably a rare occurrence, it's just too bad the one time I try the Hi-Life it spoiled my appetite, not only for food that morning, to ever go back.
Awesome Happy Hour Eats!. Weekend brunch is always super packed but we always find quick seating at the bar and good service. Bummer you can't call ahead to put your name on the list! Late nights are always quick seating, good eats and best of all good drinks. They've got a killer Happy Hour menu. If you're into spicy try their Con sopressata Pizza; it?s only $3.00 after 10:00PM.
Great Service. One of the things I miss the most about the east coast is the classic, hearty, cheap breakfasts offered at dinners you can guarantee are open and serving just about any hour of the day. Although the Hi-Life would be considered a tad more upscale then that, it certainly makes me feel like I'm home again. There aren't any astronomical lines to wait in, services is always quick, friendly, and displays more concern for refreshing your coffee than they do turning a table. While many brunch spots around town have what I call a pretentious menu ($12 for eggs and potatoes just cause they added rosemary and sage, whoopdy doo!) I find Hi-Lifs menu to be classic, hearty, plentiful, and priced just right. Also, I don't get that nauseating brunch hangover from having just downed a plate grease.

I love the pizzas during happy hour and the fish dishes for dinner. The service can be slow and a little disjointed at times, but it is always welcoming and courteous. My special requests are always honored with a smile, where other restaurants have given me the cold shoulder. My coworkers and I go every Friday for happy hour and dinner and have for over a year. It is always busy, but we still get our drinks and dinner quickly.
As a wine drinker, I find the wine list a little unsophisticated, but very well priced. AND the wine is served in a glass large enough for ample swirling and smelling- something rare in this town.
The food is tasty and the portions are large. I enjoy the aromas and flavors that come from the wood fire grill. However, I have refrained from ordering burgers, having 2 overcooked burgers in a row.
On the whole, I really enjoy the Hi Life. It is consistently good and the staff is always friendly and accomodating. Thumbs up from me!
Terrible. The only reason this place gets a good review from citysearch is they pay for advertising. Look at the other reviews, the food and service at this place is a joke. Citysearch laughably calls it "$" when most meals are easily 20 dollars a person.

Well, the first thing I have to say about the restaraunt is that the food is good! Not great, but palpatable... Even though it cost us an arm and a leg! $15 for a plate of vegetables?!?!? The service the night I went there was HORRIBLE! Me and another person I was there with got regular soda to drink, because we are not alcoholics (which is who this restaraunt is obviously for!) and got sodas that tasted surprisingly like they had hard liquor in them! WHAT? I don't know what the problem was, but it was unacceptable. Next, DON'T EVER CALL ME Monsier or Mi' Lady (especially Mi' Lady!) unless I am in France! This is not a French restaraunt! The food, as I said was okay, but the service was slow and grating! I ended up drinking water, but only got about one fill on my glass before I stopped trying to flag down the waitress with her gut hanging out from under the short black shirt she was wearing! YUCK! I really liked the idea of the large Barn-like doors opening to the outside, until the fire department roared by every so often (Right down the street!) and I noticed a bee (no, not a bumble bee. The stinging type!) flying around my table and had to leave. Overall I had a good well-done hamburger, but will not be gracing them with my presence ever again. Thanks for the $50 meal, and the classy floor show!
Not the place to rely on a bartender.... Everything for the most part was fine. Good service, food quality, and so on. On the other hand, the cocktails(2 Patron margaritas and a long island) were awful. Instead a splash of coke in the long isle, it basically looked like a coke. And the $9.50 rita had hardly any Patron in it. Not to mention, there was no float of Grand Marnier like I had asked. The sour mix they use in the Rita was horrible too. A little hint: A splash of O.J. can cut the tart taste out of a sub par margarita mix... A piece of advice, stick to the beer, it's hard to mess that up.
Bad breakfast, good happy hour. I'm torn with this place. The happy hour is decent - reasonable food and drinks that taste good; however, the breakfast was not good at all. Cold potatoes and bad eggs - not what you want at breakfast. AND worst bloody mary ever. It's like marinara sauce and honey - yep, as bad as it sounds. I've never had a problem with the service there. So go for happy hour and skip breakfast.
we never had a breakfast so bad!!!!!!!!!. not impressed with the food or service at all. eight cooks behind the line...at least one should know how to cook an egg. visibly not too happy with our food...waitress clearly ignored us in an empty restaurant. overall bad experience and will not go back.

This place is just OK. On weekend nights there is a wait. Which, in my opinion, isn't bad when the place has a bar where you can wait. BUT, the bar service is really bad here. Prepare to be ignored. Ignored to the point of blatant rudeness. However, the waiters/waitresses I've had for table service have been great.
The two daily happy hours are great values, and the pizzas here are excellent. The menu is limited if you don't enjoy red meat.
Beware: the french onion soup is poor. You'll find it highlighted on the menu with bragging about the cheese and the special recipe, etc. I almost dare you to order it; mine had almost no cheese and the soup itself was weak and forgettable. I would have sent it back but I already had a few pints of beer and I was in a good mood.
