I've been all over Portland, paid a variety of prices for a haircut (seriously, up to $115+) and this salon, by far, is the best. Hands down. Forget the super high end salons who pretend this is New York or LA, forget Bishops, forget anything in the Pearl...if you're looking for a salon that has extremely experienced stylists + the creative, friendly, and open vibe Portland is all about; Bliss is it. No doubt you can get a great hairstyle elsewhere -BUT- you don't have to empty your wallet and also put up boring snobs to do so. Whatever it is that you might be looking for in a salon, I guarantee you'll find it here. Personally, LISA is my favorite. She's extremely friendly, sweet, experienced, pretty, creative and most of all TALENTED. She can turn anything into something beautiful. I'd trust her to cut my hair with my eyes closed. So if you're like me and totally attached to you're hair and attached to looking and feeling good (let's be honest here) call up Bliss, make an appointment (Lisa won't disappoint) and get gorgeous. : )
Pros: Experienced stylists, Great art, Beautiful salon, High end yet affordable (it's like finding the Holy Grail of salons)
Cons: Small parking lot (there is neighborhood parking though)

My daughter has had this vision all summer of how she wanted her hair to look for her first day of High School. She's going in as a Freshman and wanted a new look with a personal touch. This wasn't a normal hair style. She wanted black and hot pink layered under her regular hair color. I wanted it to look professional and stylish. I saw Bliss on citysearch and saw all of the wonderful reviews. I was a worried Mom. I didn't want my daughter's first salon experience to be horrible, and I especially didn't want her feeling embarrassed on her first day as a High School student. I called and Erin was so nice and helpful. I told her what we wanted and how soon. She found me Lisa. We went in today to get it done. I could tell my daughter was just a nervous as I was. Lisa made us feel right at home. She listened to what I wanted as well as what my daughter wanted. She made some suggestions of her own and then she got started. She told us exactly what she was doing before she did it. She took last minute suggestions on the fly. She welcomed any questions we had and discussed any changes she might make to make sure we were okay with them. All of her suggestions were an improvement. We had so much fun talking and joking that the time flew by. All of the Staff there were friendly and interested. It made us feel like we were part of something. When my daughter's hair was done, it was even better than I could have imagined. Lisa took my daughter's idea and created a masterpeice. Her hair is beautiful as well as stylish. The color is amazing and the cut is perfect to show it off. I couldn't have asked for a better job. After my daughter's hair was finished, Stephanie gave her a complimentary makeup touchup. Just another bonus in this already top class salon. Lisa, you're the best! Thanks again for the amazing job you did!! Her Dad even said he liked it. ; )
