Seattle >Ipanema Brazilian Grill
good food Bad serivce.
The food was good.
The Service was terrible! Our waitress came back to visit once. Thats it.
She was rude. I do not think we will be back any time soon.
If she was expecting a tip then the least she could have done was refill my drink.
We were not alone either. The table next to us was also neglected.
Maybe she was having a bad day but she should have checked her baggage at the door.
Sort of disappointed.
As a lifelong carnivore, Brazilian steakhouses are some of my favorite places to indulge. By far my favorite is Texas de Brazil, which I try to eat at every time I am in Ft. Worth.
Seattle has Ipanema, with unfortanately pales in comparison. For the price, the quality of meat, service, and atmosphere is just not up to par. It has too much of a casual atmosphere and the meats were a little dry in my opinion. The staff seemed overworked and a little annoyed.
The salad bar was pretty good, however. If there was a half-off Groupon available I would probably go back, but for without a discount I think I will save my money for somewhere else.
LackLuster at Best.
Whenever I travel, I love to eat at Brazillian Style Steakhouses. Many have includued Fogo de Chao, Pampas both in Culver City & las Vegas, Fogo De Brasa, and a few others. This was by far the worst.
The Service was terrible. Slow to fill drinks, Salad Bar was so so, there was at least a 20 minute lull, were they didn't even come by the table with anything.
The Meat that they did bring had too much salt & pepper. They tried to bring Bison & Boor but those failed too impress. Never going back for sure.
Beaware of Rip Off Garage recommended by Brazillian Grill.
We have been there three to four times and the experience have been positive except for today, It's a good place for meat eater and expect a big variety of meats. But today they kept coming back with top sirloin steak, pepper steak, and pork sausage most of the time. The six of us stopped eating quickly because were fed up with the same meat over and over.
The biggest surprise came when we picked up our car at the recommended parking garage ("Ipanema offers a partial 10% parking validation at the Harbor Steps Parking Garage".. With the 10% off advertising on their web site, we paid close to $21 for less than three ours.
We called the restaurant and complained about it. I was first told that nobody could address my concern. When I asked for the manager I was told that the manager was not available. I dropped the call and called again and insisted talking to the manager and he finally picked up the call. He kept declaring that the restaurant had nothing to do with the parking garage and could not control the garage either. I reminded that this is the recommended parking from their own web site and he should not have declared this. After a long discussion he reluctantly agreed that they should do something about their web site. We will see, Through out the whole conversation I could not detect any sincereness.
I would have given them better rating if not for the inconsistency of food and the surprise. AFter all we are there for the food AND how we are treated right?
Great Place to take guests. I had some friends from out of town visiting from the mid west so I wanted to tak them somewhere fun and different. I am so glad I did! We had such an experience and they can't stop thanking me for taking them there. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was really fun and upbeat and the service was fantastic. This is my new go to place to take guests in Seattle!
Amazing!!. Came here with a large group of friends for a birthday party and had lots of fun. The food and drinks were great the service and attentiveness was really good. Had a BLAST!!!!!!
Great for meat lovers. I just took my wife to Ipanema for our Anniversary and had a great experience. The manager was very personable and friendly. The food was great as always. We went at 5:30 and it wasn't crowded at all. I would go again.
Great food pretty good service.
We always go with a large party and it works great with the type of service and large buffet. No coordination of serving, eat when you are hungry, works great.
Attitudes not always great from the servers but I've found that to be pretty universal at currasco places.
Meat selection is excellent and very well grilled. Don't ask for sauce. They will frown.
Bad Attitude, Service and Overpriced!. From the first moment we walked in the door, the two hostess were not the friendlist of hostesses...which is quite surprising because the hostess is usually the most courteous people. We waited for an hour for a table of 5 even though we asked them to be seated and there was an open. Then, the waitress came around, for the two hours we were there, for about 3 times for our drinks, bills, etc. The lamb and shrimp were not coming around as many times as the rest of the steak. We were a table of 5 and they stuck the 18% gratuity. When asked, the waitress indicated she had no ability to change and had to ask the manager. I don't see why she couldn't validate the bill before she puts it down and then when she returned w/ the fixed bill, she told us next year, there is a required gratuity for all parties. We are not worried since we will NOT be back. 40 bucks is not worth the obnoxious attitude that this whole restaurant have (from hostess, waitress and mgmt).
Bad Service & Employees Stole B/day Gifts.
We showed up to a party of 15 and instantly got attitude. Bad weather kept all our people from getting there right on time and we were refused seating although there were 6-8 of us waiting at the bar. But we did get a disclaimer-style lecture about food service seating policies from some bleach blonde host with a very self righteous attitude while the bunch of us didn't get offered any drinks by the bartenders.
I've personally been here before for lunch and when my best friend asked me for suggestions on her birthday dinner, this naturally came up. The meat is very good, the buffet is at least palatable, though pretty generic. But the continuing poor service was inexcusable. It took a very long time for our waittress to get drinks and she disappeared for the first hour of the meal so buffet plates were stacking up pretty high and glasses were empty.
At one point a meat-bringer asked if "she was finished" about a male friend (who sports a goatee and is clearly masculine) who had gone to the bathroom, and when corrected the employee scoffed and repeated with a smirk that he'd thought he was a girl.
At the end of the meal we were brought the wrong ticket. It took a minute to realize that a bill for 6 people had been brought for out party of 15. We are honest people and let them know it was the wrong bill, but that poor waittess would have had to pay a lot out of pocket at till balancing time, like $600.00. Mistakes are always made, we weren't upset about this, but it all just kept adding up.
I had brought my bff a gift, wrapped in a bag with a card and a gift card inside, which unfortunately she left under her chair. When she called the next morning she had trouble communicating with a Brazilian employee with an excruciatingly difficult accent, but after a very long conversation gathered that the gift was there and the woman remembered it being turned in the night before to the podium by a bus boy, and named off the items- card, gift card and gift. My bff then went to pick up the items only to find that the card and gift card were no longer there.
The woman from the phone conversation turned the matter over to that same bleach blonde attitude guy from the night before. He refused to even admit that parts of the gift weren't there, even though his employee had named the items on her own and said she remembered them. He was extremely argumentative and seemed to be taking the matter personally , as if it was a personal accusation. Basically after a long altercation he was still refusing even a simple apology for the thievery committed by one of his employees and she left in tears. The only thing she got from this "professional" was his email and the promise to forward it uncensored to the restaurants owner, which he seemed reluctant to do.
This matter has been completely mishandled. A simple apology was all that was needed. I believe this manager needs a new job, NOT in customer service. We still haven't heard back from him, but really there is nothing they can do, since like I said, all she wanted was acknowledgment and apology. The service was mediocre by everyone except the bus boy who kept our water glasses full and had delivered the lost gift, intact, to the management.
