Bad Seared Ahi. We came to Coldwater Grill thinking that it would make for a great birthday dinner for me. My husband made reservations the night of my birthday. We both order the Seared Ahi and it tasted like they just thawed the fish and threw in a pan for a few seconds. We advised that we were unhappy for the ahi and would like the salmon instead. The waiter had no problem with this and gave us the dessert we ordered free of charge.

However, my husband got sick from the ahi and missed 2 days of work.

Best Bartender. I was in Seattle for business and stopped in at the Coldwater Bar and had one of the best times of my life on the road. The Bartender, an absolute Professional Bartender , who looks just like Hemingway, recommended an excellent wine and dinner and had me feeling right at home immediately. He actually had the whole Bar feeling at home, he had us talking and laughing together like we had known each other for years.

Rude and pushy service. My friend and I went here because it was on my entertainment card. We were seated promptly. Our waitress, an older woman was incredibly pushy with us ordering drinks and appitizers, which we declined and didn't want to spend the money on and I think she knew this. She also pushed us to order a more expensive entree, even though we ordered king crab legs and a steamed seafood basket. Our food was pretty good, even though I thought it was overpriced. When I gave the waitress my entertainment card, she became even more rude towards us. I would NOT go back here as I've never been treated so poorly in such a nice restaurant.

Awful Service and Food-Ruined Christmas!. A friend and I were in Seattle over the holiday and wanted a special Christmas dinner, we got anything but! The service started of terrible with our waiter not even acknowledging us for at least 15 minutes. It got worse from there. Dinner on Christmas day was a price fixed, five course dinner, my friend and I both ordered the cod, which was inedible. It was the consistency of a tire. Would have sent it back but my server never returned for close to half an hour. When I complained of the poor fish, he was rude, and made it seem like my fault. He did ask if he could replace it, but by this point I didn't want anything else, when I asked for coffee, he rudely told me I was going to have to wait a few minutes and he would get around to coffee and dessert at that time. Excuse me? I have never had such horrendous service in a fine dining establishment. Desserts were decent but the rest of the meal was medicore at best and the fish (which they're supposed to be known for) was just awful! Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! The bad fish would have been one thing, wouldn't have ruined my Christmas dinner, but the poor service (and flat out lack of service) really ruined it. It was a disaster, completely ruined what was supposed to be a lovely Christmas dinner.

Bring back Roy's!. I've been to this restaurant several times in the past for the famous hot melting chocolate souffle when it was called "Roy's". Now it's been revamped and renamed to become the Coldwater Grill. Coldwater still has the chocolate souffle, so I recommended it to friends when we all went out to celebrate a birthday. I am sorry to say that this restaurant ruined our evening. Once we were seated it took nearly 15 minutes before we even saw our waitor, even though we went in the evening after the dinner rush. When our waitor finally appeared he raved about the chocolate souffle that oozes with chocolate in the middle, which we all ordered. We were warned that it takes about 15-20 minutes to prepare, but this time it took over 40! Additionally, the souffles arrived burnt and cooked dry all the way through-- no 'melting chocolate' here! We never saw our waitor again except for when he quickly dropped off the check and left.

POOR SERVICE, BAD FOOD! THE WESTIN SHOULD BRING BACK ROY'S!!!
