The Scene
The Westin's restaurant has mastered a straightforward approach to seafood, with an emphasis on seasonal, local goods, from the side dishes to the wines. Although the venue may lack the waterfront view of its glitzier peers, it's peaceful and quiet inside and decorated with an eye to the Northwest. Business travelers and convention attendees will find it an exceptional place to entertain, and the waitstaff is more than eager to please.
The Food
Complements are interesting but not overbearing--iron-seared scallops with a sweet pea-cauliflower puree and roasted black cod with a fennel saffron emulsion hit just the right notes. House specialties parade out the shrimp, scallops, mussels and crab, while alderwood grilling adds outdoorsy accents--order the Makah Canoe appetizer sampler for a gorgeous selection of seafood. Light, but meaty, crab cakes are a must-try. For dessert, the hot melting chocolate souflee takes the prize.

We came to Coldwater Grill thinking that it would make for a great birthday dinner for me. My husband made reservations the night of my birthday. We both order the Seared Ahi and it tasted like they just thawed the fish and threw in a pan for a few seconds. We advised that we were unhappy for the ahi and would like the salmon instead. The waiter had no problem with this and gave us the dessert we ordered free of charge. However, my husband got sick from the ahi and missed 2 days of work.
Pros: Great serivce
Cons: stay away from the Seared Ahi, Plan on spending more than you can afford

I was in Seattle for business and stopped in at the Coldwater Bar and had one of the best times of my life on the road. The Bartender, an absolute Professional Bartender , who looks just like Hemingway, recommended an excellent wine and dinner and had me feeling right at home immediately. He actually had the whole Bar feeling at home, he had us talking and laughing together like we had known each other for years.
Pros: Great Bartender
Cons: Not much of a Happy Hour
