A "Must See" learning experience!

Upon entering the Cambodian Cultural Museum & Killing Fields Memorial I was promptly greeted with a warm welcome from the museum's founder. The main gallery is stunning, as you are surrounded by exhibits displaying Khmer art, hand crafted Buddhas & traditional dance costumes. Paintings jump out in bright colors celebrating the 7th Wonder of the World, The Ankor Wat. In the center of the the main gallery is a small theatre for group tours. Off the main gallery is a large library with multiple interactive computers & endless reading material. In a separate gallery is The Killing Fields Memorial. This for me personally had an indescribable impact. Before leaving, I stopped by the gift shop and purchased a hand made elephant from Cambodia. What a fun, eye-opening, & yet strangly unsettling day I had in this overlooked gem of Seattle. I was moved.
