Editorial Review for Ibiza Dinner Club – by Jill Lightner

The Scene
Seductive style abounds, from mirrored wall panels reflecting metallic gauze to high-backed white booths that curve around the dining room. Low couches and ottomans are perfect for glamorous cocktail hours and seat appropriately glamorous patrons. The trendily dressed staff's attention to detail shows, from the reservation to the coat check--glasses are full, plates move swiftly, and smiles are on every face.

The Food
The biggest successes are found on the smallest plates--spicy pork empanadillas, thin slices of intense Serrano ham and simple wedges of fried potatoes with thick, peppery dipping sauce or classic aioli make a fine meal in themselves. Unfortunately, the entrees don't measure up: Succulent coconut lamb has an odd clash of flavors, while the sauce surrounding perfectly grilled salmon is nearly tasteless. Vaso de Crema is a dessert worth saving room for: A crisp orange meringue tops a generous cup filled with creamy mousse.

User Reviews for Ibiza Dinner Club

2 Star Rating: Below Average

I went herefor happy hour. There was one server working the whole inside and outside. She was nice but didn't have the time to take our orders. Eventually a friend went to the bartender and complained about the service. He took the order and sent the server over. She apologized. Even after that we still had trouble getting service. The drinks and food were OK. It was very pricey. And they over charged my card. Something I am still trying to correct.

Pros: Couch seating good for groups

Cons: Slow and missing service

Ibiza Dinner Club does not emulate the Spanish night-life as I had hoped. This place bills itself as an upscale, classy club. On weekend nights, it is actually a be-seen place for younger (20 to 30-something) adults with some cash, run by juvenile adults with potentially your cash. I walked in on a couple occasions during the week wondering if they were really open yet. I realize that every establishment has slow times, but there is something to be said for being receptive and welcoming, even during lulls in clientèle. I see that someone already mentioned how bad the general manager, Brooke, is; though I won’t chime in on the name-calling. She was actually very nice to me while she was pretending to be concerned about my jacket that the coat check gave to the wrong person…. Yes, I checked my coat and forgot it when I left. The next day I called the club and someone answered the phone @ 4pm, but said that he couldn’t do anything to help me and I had to wait until 7pm when they opened for service. I came in and there was no jacket – it had been given to someone else. Brooke apologized, gave me her phone number and told me to call her the next day and she would let me know what she could find out. I called, and after 4 days she finally called back with a message saying that the woman who had my jacket wanted me to have her phone number… so we could work it out ourselves. Apparently, the woman with my jacket was as unsuccessful as I was in getting Brooke to promptly return her call. More than a week after Ibiza’s coat-check gave my jacket to someone else; I chased it down and made their wrong right. I expect that a truly high-caliber establishment would have delivered a client's jacket that was misplaced by their coat check. I work in this industry and I go out often, and this is the first time that the lack of professionalism and poor service has driven me to find a venue to share a bad review.

Pros: elbow-rubbing with "pretty people"

Cons: bad service, attitude, superficial quality
