Rude and FAT

I just called them to see ask about the Groupon. I asked the guy who answered the phone if the Groupon covers Madico tint (since Johnson has bad reviews). He said yes at a higher price. I asked him how much more. He replied you have to bring it in to get a price. I asked if he can ball park it for me to give me an idea. He said "Ever since the Groupon ran, we have gotten over 300 calls like yours. You have to bring the car in for us to give you a price." He was rude and obviously he is FAT now since he is getting so much business from Groupon. Even at half the price, I will NEVER give my business to A$$h0les!

I had previously written a 1-star review based on a negative experience that I had in which my confirmed appointment was cancelled without any notification and then I was then hung up on when I called All-Star. After posting that review, i was contacted by Tom (the owner) who apologized and made it clear that my experience was not acceptable or typical of All-Star.
We agreed to give it another go and this time I was offered a dedicated time slot (first call of the morning at 9am). I am pleased to say that this experience was far more positive. All-Star arrived at my home at 9am as promised and performed the work (a front windshield replacement) in around 45 mins. The work was done well and everything went very smoothly.
Typically, I would only update a 1 star review to 3 stars...but I have decided to give All-Star 4 stars for the effort they made to make up for the initial bad experience. I am pleased that the work was done well in the end and I am willing to accept that my initial experience was not typical. I would use All-Star again in the future.
One fly in the ointment

I had a huge crack in my windshield. I did some research and decided to go with All-Star. I got an appointment much quicker than I thought I would and it was at my home. I got a call from the tech before he got here, and another call while he was in the driveway doing the work from All-Star concerning payment. That went off without a hitch. Very nice people, professional and quick. The tech was very nice and professional.
When I drove my truck the next day, I noticed a wind noise starting about 30 mph and getting loudest at about 40+. I called and they asked me to remove the blue tape the tech had left on the window and roof. I did that but it made no difference. On Friday of that week, (two days since the replacement), I noticed a very, very tiny amount of water coming in from the top behind my rear view mirror. I called All-Star again and finally wound up talking to the manager. I forget his name, but he was concerned and suggested a couple of things and really tried to get someone back out to my house Saturday.
Monday I got a call from All-Star and it was the dispatcher, Greg. We made plans for Tuesday to have the work done at my work place. Because of the security measures at my work, I was trying to think of the best way to get my keys to the tech who would be doing the work. At this point, from his tone of voice and the way he cut in, I got the distinct feeling that Greg was getting impatient and wanted to get off the phone. I made plans to have my truck inside the gate, near our shop and called Greg and told him what his tech would have to do and where to enter the our facility. But once I gave Greg the address, he said, "We'll take care of it", and quickly hung up.
I came back to the yard that night to find that the work had not been done. The shop supervisor told me that he had seen the All-Star van out in our parking lot driving around, but by the time he got out there, it was gone. I called All-Star and got a very nice woman on the phone and told her exactly what I had told the dispatcher the day before. She said that the work order she was looking at showed nothing about having the work done at my job. She took careful notes and assured me it would be done the next day.
The work was done the next day. It was raining, but the tech was able to pull my truck into the shop where he could do the work. The windshield is now quite and there are no leaks.
The only problem I had with this company seems to have been with the dispatcher not giving his tech the information I told him he would need to get to my truck and his curt responses to me on the phone. Everyone else I dealt with were great and seemed really concerned that I was satisfied. I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the woman I talked to or the manager. They were great. I would use them again but if there were special circumstances to the job, I'd rather not deal with their dispatcher but with someone who can get the circumstances to the actual person doing the work.
Sweet deal

I'm excited enough about this to comment about them online. That says a lot. I actually felt the need to say something nice because impressive service sometimes warrants it. I spoke with a couple different people at All star and I'm so impressed with them. Clearly, they have a warm, friendly culture at the shop. Totally bowled me over with how nice everyone was. :)
The product is excellent. Had a full windshield replaced on my 2008 4runner. No problems and the work looks perfect.
