Can this really be a dinner? It's more of a bistro with diner prices. This neighborhood favorite has had a face lift, and is under new management. The menu is still affordable, eclectic, American cuisine. Signature burgers, omelets all day, macaroni and cheese, and chicken pot pie are favorites. The new owner/chef Richard Galcik's nightly specials; dazzle and excite the palate. Everything from mussels to the best crab salad with avocado and field greens in a refreshing citrus vinaigrette.

Sullivan Diner is a sure win for lunch, brunch and dinner. Dinner, by the way can be quite romantic and certainly cozy with a stunning outdoor café. The international wine list is worth the visit alone. Enjoy an evening of affordable, delicious dining, sheer charm, and a warm staff. Bon A petit.

Editorial Review for Sullivan Diner – by Riva Froymovich

In Short
The traditional diner look is updated with red suede banquet seating and granite tables by a petite countertop. The menu covers a breadth of comfort-food cravings including macaroni and cheese, hamburgers to taste and daily specials like free range chicken stuffed with goat cheese and wild mushrooms. The diner's specialty: thin Danish pancakes smothered in a choice of sweet or savory toppings, like Nutella with bananas or bacon.

This place is GREAT - we are so happy we stumbled upon this little gem! We were actually heading to a different cafe around the corner.... the pretty flower baskets outside are delightful and caught our eye from the corner of Bleecker Street. We stopped to take a peek at the menu and saw "Dutch Pancake" -neither of us knew what a dutch pancake and so decided to stay and try them. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted by two very friendly waitresses. One asked if we wanted a table for two and would we like to sit inside or outside- we wanted to sit outside and enjoy the brisk morning so one of the waitresses showed us to a table on the patio. We had already decided to to try a dutch pancake- but the rest of the menu looked delicious too and I was torn between the pancake or the french toast. When the waitress came back to ask if we wanted anything to drink I asked what is a "Dutch pancake" - she replied "It's like a crepe, just a little thicker" and I asked what she would recommend - french toast or the dutch pancake? She said "ooh that's a tough one- they are both excellent... we do actually have another pancake that isn't on the menu- it has nutella and banana on top it's actually my favorite"- being a Nutella fan I decided on the Dutch Nutella and Banana, and my friend went with the Dutch Bacon. When we received our pancakes we were shocked! We were not expecting something so huge... at first glance I wasn't sure I was going to be able to finish it... but there was no way I was going to leave anything on the plate! It was all too delicious! Besides the great pancakes, we were made to feel very welcome here- both waitresses were very attentive and friendly. The food was fast and the service was impeccable which is a rarity in this city!! We have eaten at many fine dining restaurants and not received the service that we did at this 'diner'. Thank you so much!!! Pros: Food, Staff, Service, Ambience, Cons: We can't eat there everyday!

Since moving into the area, I've been going to Sullivan Diner for the last year and have been recently impressed with both the food and the service. Is it under new management? Not a diner at all it's more like a Bistro? They should change their name. Food, Wine and service exceeded all expectations. Very impressive. Thanks.

Pros: Servive and food quality

Cons: lack of outside seating for large parties
