Monica Rose is Wonderful, AND I love Christine's Facials!. Monica Rose is a fabulous stylist! She always listens to what I want and gives me her honest opinion if it will work with my hair. I love the style, and she tells me exactly what I need to do to take care of it. Every time I see her I get compliments for days!

When I found out she was moving to an organic salon I of course wanted to follow her but wasn?t sure what to expect. After having seen her there a few times now, I am totally hooked! Everyone is so friendly and accommodating! On top of that, the organic products are wonderful and I can't believe that their hair color doesn't smell like ammonia!

On my first visit to Mode I was offered a discount to try one of their other services. I decided to try a facial. I don't consider myself a spa girl but I've been to my share of spas, both shi shi day spas and clinical medi-spas. I have to say that Mode is neither and this isn't a bad thing. The salon has two facial rooms which are simple, comfortable and nicely decorated. Not extravagant but definitely not cold and clinical.

As for the facial itself, I think Christine is just great! She genuinely cares about the health of my skin and tailor?s her facials to exactly what I need. Her touch is soothing yet firm and always enjoyable. I?ve noticed that my skin is brighter, healthier and younger looking since seeing her. So much so that people even comment on it! The Eminence Organics products she uses are A-mazing! I love how they smell which makes it easy to use them at home!

I love going to Mode and would recommend it to anyone!

Yes! Best Facial, I think so.... After reading the last two facial reviews I just had to write my own! I have been in to see Christine three different times for facials and I have to say I couldn't be more pleased! I have been a hair client of Mode for a while now (Thanks Joe! Love Ya!) but I always went elsewhere for my facials. Upon Joe's recommendation I decided to try Christine and it was absolutely marvelous! It's obvious that she knows her stuff, my skin felt so incredible afterwards and the wonderfully yummy organic Eminence products she sent me home with are to die for! Even my husband uses them, although I think he should come in and get his own!

I always feel so relaxed and glowing afterwards... granted there is a window in her treatment room and I can occasionally hear street noise but, honestly, I usually don't notice because the music is soothing and her hands practically put me to sleep. The front desk staff is always so helpful and courteous as well, they even know exactly what flavor of organic tea I like!

It's not a spa, true, so don't expect to lounge around in a bathrobe but when it comes to people who know their products and their craft this place just can't be beat! My hair always looks great and my skin has never been healthier and that is what keeps me coming back!

Not sure why that last woman wasn't happy, maybe something to do with her username being "sourpatch"!

Not the best facial. I went to MODE because of the award for Best Facial 2007, but it was far from the best facial I've ever had. I arrived about 30 minutes in advance just to relax. The Receptionist was unattentive and didn't seem courteous at all. I requested tea but she simply forgot-- twice.

The lady who did my facial was ok, but I couldn't ignore the thinness of the walls. It was no relaxing experience. I could hear every conversation in the salon (no 2nd door separated the back-rooms and the front desk. The only thing that separated us was a curtain). Also, since it is located near the streets, I could hear cars honking, motorcycles reving their engines, etc. The music was very hip-hop (not my thing when I'm trying to relax) and way too loud.

As far as the actual facial experience went, I've had better elsewhere and wouldn't recommend it for the price I paid. She had several opportunities to go the extra mile (knot in my back, etc.) but did just enough to pass as "okay." Definitely not spectacular or "The Best."

Again, the surrounding experience was enough to make me decide not to return. The location is at fault, and management should encourage their employees to freshen up on their Customer Service skills and attention to detail.

hair maybe, facials terrible.... I thought I would try a new place since Mode won an award for facials. I did find unusual that they had a ton of reviews but none of them mentioned facials and now I know why since it was simple adequate. To pay over a $100 for a facial that is mediocre I personally think is highway robbery. The reviews say they do hair well but let me be the first to say to go somwhere else for your skin.

Try it, you'll like it.... I unfortunately lost my fab stylist that had been doing my hair since I moved to Seattle last summer (at a different salon), she moved out of state...so I went searching for someone new. Wow am I glad I found Mode! Though some may read this and think it was premature to write a reveiw, I really felt compelled to share my first experience. I read all the reviews on citysearch and decided this was the place to try. I was in desperate need of a haircut, called and got an appointment for the next day (today) with Selina. The whole experience was relaxing, the scalp massage was verrry nice. Before picking up her scissors, Selina talked to me about what I was doing with my hair, and where I wanted to go with it. She discussed what she saw I needed and proceeded to give new life to my hair. I felt very chic when I left! She told me what products she used, the why's and how's and then let me decide with out any pressure what I wanted to take home, if any. The atmosphere of Mode is upscale without being uptight, everyone I encountered was very nice. I have an appointment scheduled for highlights (which also need updating) in two weeks and I can't wait. I asked Selina about the color process they use (involves essential oils) and have to say I am intrigued. To top it all off her haircut was $45, how can that be? So in short, try Mode, you won't be disappointed...I look forward to sharing my color experience with you in a couple weeks....

Great New Look. Today was my first trip to Mode's Downtown Salon. Joe is now stuck with me forever! I had a perm and cut and my usually fine, straight , fly away hair looks great. It is difficult to find a new salon. I choose Mode after reading reveiws here. Joe and his staff are friendly and the space light and comfortable. Best of all Joe took the time to discuss how I want my hair to look and how to get there. I have already made an appt for a foil and am looking forward to it.

Relaxing and helpful. Spent time in the salon not getting my hair done but getting other services. This was a first for me! I had my eyebrows tinted and waxed and I am so happy with the results. And 60 minutes with Michael was so helpful. I wanted to try mineral makeup and he chose my colors and showed me how to apply it. We discussed my skin type and what eye colors suit me. I have been using the products for a few days now and couldn't be more pleased. Michelle, one of the owners, was so gracious and helpful too. (Thank you for the sample of poppy scrub ...it is awesome). I recommend it.

I Love the Ammonia Free Haircolor Experience at Mode!. I have been a hairstyist for about 18 years and have become chemically sensitive to ammonia and other toxic chemicals. I have been searching for a stylist to do my hair who knows color and uses low to non toxic haircolor products. I found Chelsea at Mode! She is great! She listens and she cut and colored my hair exactly the way I wanted it. It's hard to please another hairstylist when it comes to her hair, but Chelsea delivers. The atmosphere at Mode is relaxing and everyone is very friendly. No pretentious attitudes here. Every salon should follow Mode's example.

Facial + Waxing + Cut & Color. I started looking for a new salon after having several bad haircuts and brow waxes. I saw a review on Mode in Seattle magazine and something about it just seemed right, so I made an appointment. The front desk gal was very sweet and helpful. Not rude and impersonal, like most salon girls. I mentioned that I could only come on certain days & times (because I have a new baby) and after congratulating me, she reminded me that they do waxing as well and suggested that I get it all done at once to save me another trip downtown. Glad she mentioned something because my brows were atrocious! :)

I booked a brow appointment with Christine during Happy Hour (the same service, only $15 though because it fell between 2pm & 4pm! Thanks again to the receptionist for recommending that)

Christine was hilarious! She had me cracking up! I felt like I had known her for years. I was SO impressed with my brows! They were perfect. Definitely what I had been looking for all this time. I loved Christine so much that I came back to her after my hair, for a facial. It was to die for. I actually booked one per month for about the next 9 months or so and she gave me 10% off each visit when I come in! She definitely did not have to do that. She is just AMAZING. I can't say it enough!

I saw Monica Rose for my cut & color. Two words; Professional & INCREDIBLE! I felt like she had mastered the art of cut, color and overall personal style. Because for me, it can be a fabulous hairstyle but if it doesn't fit my personality, it won't like it at all. I had a full foil and a (new) cut, something I never tried before. She nailed my personal style, the amount of effort I wanted to spend each morning and even helped my (chubby) facial features fade away behind my awesome new hair:-) The salon had a fantastically mellow vibe, everyone was genuinely friendly, offered great products (all organic. skincare & makeup as well) a zillion beverage choices and they take American Express!

I'M HOOKED.

Mode is great - Molly makes it even better!. Mode downtown is a fabulous place for a haircut and color. I've been going for more than a year, and Molly is the best! Not only is she fantastic at both cut and color (really great with short hair) but she is great to visit with and totally makes you feel comfortable, pampered and genuinely cares how you are doing. She always spend time listening to what I want, what my concerns are with my hair and she always delivers! Mode is great all around, but Molly is definitely what keeps me coming back time and time again.
