Went to Iatria two days ago and had a three hour-long experience, most of which was outstanding. Walked in, the receptionist was friendly if not overtly conversational. Service was fast and I was picked up almost right away (I had an appointment) to start off my experience. First, had the Bikini Wax. This left much to be desired. My skin was dry afterwards and she didn't pluck, which left stray hairs. However, she was nice and friendly and made great conversation. However, it was probably the fastest bikini wax I've ever had and I didn't realize until afterwards why. Overall, it wasn't a horrible wax, just not completely up to par with others that I've had. The seaweed body wrap was great. They have an eerily lit red room (heat lamps) that keep you cool after they shower the stuff off of you. The woman was great and very chatty, talking and reassuring me through the whole thing because apparently, a lot of people get freaked out through this service since they wrap you up like a cocoon. My skin is now noticeably softer. The massage was the best part. At first, I hadn't booked the deep tissue massage but conveniently, they had a spot open right after my body wrap. I waited in the Relaxation Room for about thirty minutes before Nina, the massage therapist, arrived. It was probably one of the greatest deep tissue massages I've ever had. She taught me that you don't always have to apply extreme pressure in order to feel the results. Overall, it was a great experience. The decor is not overly sophisticated but very comforting and pleasant. I love the fact that everyone was so charming and friendly and willing to talk to you through every process. If communication is King, then Iatria is the Palace of all Raleigh Spas. Definitely recommended.
