The English ales, fine whiskey and comfortable seats in this cozy tavern make me turn down Post Alley when I want a little respite at the market.

Just hidden enough in Post Alley in Pike Place Market to make you think you stumbled upon a magically place. This is an English-style tavern, complete with Samuel Smith beer from Yorkshire. Try the Dark & Stormy, which has nothing to do with rum and everything to do with ruby port and dark brown ale.
Editorial Review. This pleasantly cluttered Pike Place pub and bookstore has a small, rotating selection of bottled import beers; dogs are allowed inside.
Great atmosphere, service. The White Horse is one of my favorite finds in Seattle. Joe carries a unique selection of English ales that you wont see in every local tavern. Its a great place to hang out with friends or just unwind with a book after a long day.
