Editorial Review for Twist Restaurant & Lounge – by Anna Roth
In Short
Two bars with personality, divided by a dining area and fountain wall, make this the place to see and be seen for young professionals on a night on the town. Up front has a sports bar vibe, while the back boasts a sweeping view of the Sound, a disco-ball pig statue and assorted seating nooks. The house infuses its own vodkas with flavors like blueberry and pineapple, creating an interesting specialty cocktail list.

Generally, Twist is an ok bar. It's pretty standard with what you'll find anywhere in Belltown. HOWEVER- I would caution anyone who goes there to head to the ATM before you go. Upon checking my bank statement the other day, I discovered that the bartender decided to give themself an extra $3 tip. Yes, it's only $3. But it's still stealing. And for the record, when this was charged to my card, I was ordering my first drink of the evening, and I have extremely tidy handwriting. There is no way that my "$12" could have been interpreted as "$15". I have worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years now, and I know bartenders and servers who have pulled this trick before. Don't stop going to Twist, but do not use your credit card unless you want the bartenders stealing from you!!!
Pros: Good bar in Belltown
Cons: Thieving bartenders padding their tips on your credit card

I went ot Twist about a year and was not impressed, so I was hesitant to go back. My freind insisted that we join them there so we said ok. the steps that they have taken to improve the food and there sevice is evident. They have obviously had a hard time geting themselves established as a respectible establshment but you can tell that they are at least making an effort to get better. I know that we appreciated it. The chef took the time to come to the table and inform us about the specials, and give us recomdations. The service was prompt and the food came out in timley matter. We decided to stay and see if it was a cool place to spend the rest of our night, and it was. THe crowd was you what you expect in Bell Town but you could tell that for the majority the people that were there come ther often. They all seemed to know either a bartender or a cocktailer. And the staff seemed to akknowledge that. I was not a big fan at first, but I say give them annother shot if you have been dissapointed in the past.
Pros: Bartenders are some of the best you have seen.
Cons: Still have growing pain. But Making an effort
