Julie is at Capelli's!. Julie has been my barber for over 8 years. I am excited that she found a great fit for herself at Capelli's (and I think the place is a great fit for me also!). I will go where ever Julie goes! I've tried many barbers over the years and Julie is the only person who can do my hair the way I like it consistently. She has a great eye for detail and she's great to talk with, or on my quiet days she knows to let me relax and possibly take a nap during the haircut. I highly recommend making an appointment with Julie and I guarantee she will make you feel like a million bucks!
Best Cuts in Town. Capelli's is the best place in town for a guy to get a haircut. Cassandra cuts mine every time and she always remembers every detail about both my hair and personal life! It's the most friendly, fun, and convenient place in the city to get a superb haircut.
How lovely!. As a first time customer of Capelli's, I was delighted to find such a place existed. I've always hoped for a barbershop with services, atmosphere and clientele custom tailored towards a gentlemen with discerning standards in grooming, such as myself. Between the polite service, professional haircut and wash, I truly felt like a guest, rather than just another customer. Excellent business, I handed out a handful of Capelli's business cards to colleagues and friends of mine who are also tasteful and equally discerning gentlemen such as myself.
I WAS REFUSED SERVICE- BECAUSE I AM A WOMAN.
I have extremely short hair, and I am a woman. I work in the same building as Capelli's downtown location so I thought I could stop in for a trim around the neck. Yes, this shop advertises itself as a Gentlemen's Barbershop, but it does not say that it is EXCLUSIVE to men. They would not cut my hair. I went back and forth for a while with the receptionist, who wouldn't say directly, "no, we don't cut women's hair", but would not allow me to see a stylist either. She kept saying that "we only have equipment that is designed especially for the texture of men's hair, so we are unable to cut your hair." I said that I had NEVER heard of such a thing. You just need a sharp pair of scissors and a comb to cut hair (any hair) man or women. I WAS REFUSED SERVICE BASED ONLY ON MY GENDER!

I emailed the owner of the company to relay how insulted I was at the lack of tack by, and outright patronization received from the receptionist and she replied such: "...we advertise that we are a gentleman?s shop and we advertise that we cater to the "manliest of men", therefore I should have been clear that they mainly cut men?s hair. Part of her reply reads: "Since opening Capelli's four years ago we feel our image has portrayed us correctly since we have not had any women clientele". She he did not apologize to me for being turned away due to my gender only stated she was sorry I felt that I was.

I believe that they should post notice to the effect that they do not want/allow women in their shop. I also believe it would be more professional to have staff say directly, "No, we do not allow women". It may not happen that women come to their shop often for service, but making up lies "we only have equipment to cut the texture of men?s hair" is just plain insulting and frankly, makes the shop and staff untrustworthy. Should I mention that this entire event was carried out in front of (men) customers. I was humiliated. DO NOT USE THIS BARBERSHOP!
Best upscale Barbershop in Seattle hands down, their new location on 5th and Union is even bigger and better!. I decided to try out Capellis and was informed of a new location just open last week in the City Centre building where Palomino is located. Walking up I was enveloped in dark wood, plush overstuffed leather chairs, 3 flat screen tvs, gentlemenly memorabilia, and beautiful women waiting to welcome me and cut my hair. I was offered an espresso which came immediately and then placed with April who not only took the time to get to know me and make me feel welcome but also gave me a wonderful service with a shampoo, scalp massage, consultation, haircut, style, and hot towel neck shave. I left feeling relaxed, fresh, and manly! I will never visit another salon again and will be a faithful client to Capellis. I might even get a manicure next time. Very recommended.
Good Haircut..
I did enjoy my experience. The Tvs, the fresh coffee, the friendly staff including the owner. I love the neck shave head massage. My only complaint would be if it took longer. I know some people are in a hurry, but I felt I barely had time to enjoy my cofee or the tvs. I prefer if it felt like the stylist took their time with me. Might have just been the time of day. I did just recommend this to a friend, but I personally prefer the barber shops that offer just a little more patience and hands on.
Definately worth checking out for anyone looking for a nice classy haircut experience.
The best place for a guy to get his haircut!. I went there for the first time today and I was overly impressed. The massage was awesome and the perfect treat for the end of a long week. The haircut was better than I would have imagined. The ladies in Capelli's are hot! Flatscreen tv's everywhere make for a nice entertainment touch. On top of that I got offered a beverage of choice, which is also something you don't see too often. But the number one best part about it was the next shave!! There is nothing better than that! I was totally pumped afterwards, and I am definitely going back! I highly reccommend Lacey! She did an excellent job and was easy to get to know!
Best Downtown Barbershop!!. I read the reviews here on CitySearch and had to try out this place. It's really hard trying to find a good place to get a haircut. I called and they were able to get me in that day, which was great. The place looks great and the girls are really helpful. Teryl did a wonderful job; it was like she could read my mind on how I wanted my hair cut. Very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend Capellis to any guy that works in the downtown Seattle area.
Great atmosphere. I went to Capelli's for the first time this week and I was impressed, both by the atmosphere and by the people. Everyone was wonderfully friendly and its easy to feel comfortable there, especially with the flatscreen tv and free drinks (!). The woman who cut my hair was great - very personable and attentive, and she did a very good job with my hair. It's definitely worth the extra money to get the kind of service and attention to detail that Capelli's offers. Plus its not as expensive as most other high-end salons, anyway. I'd recommend this place to any guy who's tired of going to places Supercuts and coming away dissatisfied; this place won't disappoint.
