A decision to work with a therapist is courageous and hopeful. My basic stance, with individual or couples clients, is to honor your desire for relationship and your resolve to make your life better. Speaking simply and truthfully with you is the foundation of my approach. I've trained extensively in a 'differentiation-based' approach (read "Passionate Marriage" by David Schnarch to get a deeper understanding.) This approach uses commitment as the primary path that adults change and grow. Couples can address their sexuality and intimacy in terms of the personal development that brings about growth and improvement.

I believe people can make use of what is happening in the relationship, to change and grow through the 'deadlocks' that have developed over time. That's the will and the courage I believe lies within us.
