Editorial Review for Porcella Urban Market – by Anna Roth

In Short
The front-of-store deli case is filled with a treasure trove of house-cured meats, gourmet cheese and prepared meals to eat in or take out, such as roast duck with a side of filled squash. The glassed-in room behind the counter displays the chef's in-progress charcuterie. On the store side, simple wooden shelves are stocked with delectable gourmet goods--Spanish polenta, Moroccan lemons, exotic jams--while the refrigerated section offers premade soup stocks and demi-glaze.

Insider Tips

Know Before You Go

The big wooden table near the back of the store is the setting for tasting events and classes; pick up a schedule in-store for more details.

What to Drink

A well-stocked wine rack dominates one wall of the store--ask about tastings while you browse the bottles.

The Extras

Rent the entire store, including the exhibition kitchen and large tables, for corporate events or parties.

This was our favorite place for coffee (Best Coffee by far in Bellevue) and for foods that you won't find at the majority of your standard american restaurants. Unfortunatelly, they are closing and another asian restaurant will be open there soon. Too bad...Don't get me wrong, I like asian food, but there are so many asian restaurants around and so few really european places.... Kelly good luck to you!

The food seemed ok although not our style. My problem was that our server handled our money, and then proceeded to touch our food! Even Subway has rules on that! Then he stocked with his bare hands the bread basket, and then touched our money again. I was pretty appalled. Maybe they are going for "European" sanitary standards.

Pros: You can experience new foods here

Cons: Did not wash hands and touched all kinds of food!
