Violence on the rise. On Jan 28th, 2012, my nephew paid to have an engagement party at the Amber. However after 3 bouncers attacked him and broke the bride's wrist, I'm sure due to a roid rage episode w/o listening to why they were in the bathroom together was freaken ridiculous. My nephew's fiance had been sick all week, but they could not cancel their engagement party since the invite was sent 2 weeks prior. They paid the fee and went through with it. Towards the end of night she felt bad again and thought she might pass out and needed help to the bathroom. My nephew would naturally helped her. He went into the 1 room bthm with her. This was not a multiple stall type bthm. Meanwhile the 3 bouncers noticed this and approached them with hostility as they exited from the bthm. Without asking or listening to their explanation, the bouncers decided to teach the pattrons a lesson. The 3 bouncers cowardly attacked the my nephew and broke his fiance's wrist as she was trying to help my nephew. The 3 of them dragged my nephew out to the back alley and further beat him. Really?! Isn't their job is to difuse the situation not to create one? AND 3 against 1?! WTF! What a bunch of #ussies! To the owner and the bouncers......put yourselves in check because KARMA is knocking on your door.....not in a good way.

Never come back and will tell my friends. The doorman at the front was not polite and had no consideration or knowleage for other people. They are hiring a just oik. They should watch who they are talking to. As for the rest, not so bad. The maneger's handling was good, as a result. However. Just like that, the reputation has plummeted for customers.

Will never return, ever..... Went here with a friend, both of our first times. Waited in line for drinks only to find out it was $18 for two well singles, which were not only weak but incredibly small. It looked as if everyone there was being fake and cliche. We were both so disappointed we left as soon as we finished our drinks, which didn't take long at all.

Pretentious staff, expensive, bad drinks. Horrible experience. I've heard bad things about Amber, but I ignored and tried it out anyways. Complete waste of time. Boring and pretentious crowd (somewhat of a meat-market). Expensive drinks (especially considering the bartenders there butcher most of the drinks). The waiters and managers seemed to care more about themselves then actually running a decent establishment.

Why waste your time going to a bad place like Amber when there are plenty of other great options downtown?

I liked it as Axis better. The good part is at least there is a hotdog vendor within a block or two of this place. Hooray for that! This place is a bit of a meat market at times. It's too busy at times with limited seating. I may have outgrown this place but I remember when it was Axis and although there was limited room, I liked it better. Sure this place is nice to look at so you're not in the ghe tto as far as decor but sometimes it feels as if you could get mugged outside. I'd rather go to Seesound Lounge around the corner, but I don't go out often. At. All. Definitely don't try to throw a party here... unless it's a pity party of one.

One of the classiest places in Belltown!. Went here for happy hour with a few girlfriends and had a great experience! I've been here twice now and have had a positive experience every time! Great ambiance, good service and wonderful drinks and food. The bartender was very attentive and kept the good drinks flowing.

As some other reviewers have said, the bouncers were a little rigid and provided a little less-than-friendly welcome, but they ARE bouncers who are responsible for working with tons of people and maintaining security so I don't ever expect to become best friends with them, nor will I let an experience with a bouncer ruin my evening or opinion of such a great establishment.

I would highly recommend this place if you're headed to Belltown and want good drinks and music without being accosted by gross men. This place is about as classy as you get in Belltown.

Worst bar in town. I never found such a big concentration of pretentious people. Furthermore, the stuff has no manners and doesn't know how to treat clients. Go under your own risk.

what nice pepple!. I had my birthday party at Amber last week and I had a sensational time. The staff was so courteous, they really pulled out all the stops for me and my group - and the food... delish! (I had a glorious mixed grill dish off of their weekly fresh sheet). Between great friends, tasty food, awesome staff and potent cocktails, I really couldn't have had a better time.

I love Amber Live!!. I went to Amber live tonight, Mycle Wastman played and they are great!! The mojitos are bomb, you can even get a pitcher of them! Food is awesome, definitely a must try! Will go every Thursday!

GREAT FOOD AT A GREAT PRICE!. WE HAD VARIETY OF SMALL PLATES, WHICH IS A GOOD WAY TO GO.CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THE BBQ RIBS,CLAM CHOWDER AND DUNGENESS CRAB CAKES! FOR ENTREES THE ROASTED CORN AND CHILI RAVIOLI WAS AMAZING. OR FOR THE MEAT LOVERS-THE RIBEYE STEAK.WOW! LATER ON WE SAMPLED THE KAHLUA AND CARAMEL CHEESECAKE, SO DECADENT. DEFINITELY GOING BACK!
