This corner Vietnamese restaurant, tucked just inside the White Center neighborhood, does have seating, but you’ll usually find the crowd hovering around the front counter, looking into the kitchen intently as their sandwiches are made. The menu of Vietnamese sandwiches is pasted on the wall, separate from the regular sit-down menu. Along with the usual tofu, barbecue pork and ham options, 88 offers a meat combo and also a fried egg option, called bahn mi trung. If you want to expand your meal, you can also find a few other options: fresh rolls and sausages to go, as well as a full menu of bubble teas and fresh-brewed Vietnamese coffees. Service is fairly quick and prices are as cheap as are to be expected.
