In Short – This subdued basement sanctuary offers escape from the hotel bustle upstairs while continuing its sophisticated interior decoration, utilizing warm woods and contrasting patterns to their greatest advantage. Like the rest of the property, the spa comes fully loaded: locker rooms are equipped with dry saunas and a flat-screen TV provides the entertainment during pedicures and manicures. Services include facials, single and couples massage, manicures, pedicures, waxing and sunless tanning.

Thank God For Spaahh

by aloha_hilo_hattie at Citysearch

I did my research and came to the conclusion that Hotel 1000's Spaahh was the best place to treat my best friend of 13 years to a "couples massage". I was in for more than I bargained for! Not only did the staff (Jessica and Leah) do all possible to make our Sunday appointment happen, they were incredibly willing and friendly during the process! Upon entering this quite, serene oasis, we were kindly greeted by the staff who had us fill out massage questionairres (which I found great since I have back problems) and then led us to the women's room to change into plush bathrobes and gave us the option of sitting in the dry sauna before our massage. (We did, it was amazing!). We were then led to an inviting waiting room that featured beautiful chairs, hot fresh tea, lemon water and relaxing music. Within moments, our massueses (spelling?) came and greeted us, dressed in all black. My massuese was a wonderful man named Robert, who I highly recommend. My best friend had a gentleman by the name of Clyde (you know, I may be wrong on his name, if so I apologize) and she swears his hands were delivered by God! We got relaxed and spent 90 minutes in heaven. Music was playing, the room was low lit and incredibly comfortable, and our needs were attended to on all levels. During the end of my massage, I saw Robert meditating over me, and he explained that he was doing some reiki work, which was really awesome. The price per person for a 90 minute massage was $160, which may be a bit steep, but the services provided more than cover it. Our massage ended and we were served champaign in the waiting room! They told us the drinks were on the house since it was a special occassion! WOW. Overall, this "Spa" was 100 times more than I could have imagined and will definitely be a place my friend and I visit yearly. THANK YOU!!!

Go for the facial leave the manicure and pedicure to someone else

by mhs01 at Citysearch

The grand extravagance facial was the best facial ever. It begins with a back massage, which was unexpected. The products they use are great and the woman doing my facial explained the products she was using but there was no sales push at the end of the facial. However, the manicure and pedicure weren't that great. There are no dryers so you sit for however long you think is long enough and then you leave. My pedicure was completely smudged when I got home. Also, the polish was uneven and had lots of bubbles in it.

  • Pros: Staff and very calming atmosphere
  • Cons: Manicure/Pedicure

More than a facial

by coocoo206 at Citysearch

I was more than pleasantly suprised with my facial. It was not just skin care but a whole body experience. I left feeling calm and rejuvinated and my skin positively glowed. After my facial I promptly bought services for my best friend's upcoming birthday.
