In Short
The large, airy room is dominated by a dramatic spiral staircase, winding its way around an immense 20-foot tower of 5,000 wine bottles. Floor-to-ceiling windows give a fishbowl view of Fourth Avenue. Wine is the big draw, of course: 14 flights have names like "lush and juicy" and "teethstainer," while the long list has an amazing variety of glasses and bottles. Food is upscale cafe fare, including sandwiches, pizzas, pasta and other entrees.

I walked into this place to meet some friends for dinner and drinks. Upon entering, I expected the atmosphere to be stuffy and uptight but it was just the opposite! The wines that we ordered were all amazing and the food was spectacular. The service was extremely slow and our server rarely checked in on us. She was very nice...maybe they just want you to relax and savor your wine? Either way, we all agreed that the service could be a bit more attentive. We will definitely come back.

Purple is a fun restaurant for people who like small plates and sharing! The food was fantastic. Eat upstairs in the bar area as the seats are better than the dining room! Will certainly come back!
