Perche'no Pasta e Vino

Why not? That is to say Perche'no: One of the best finds in Seattle.

  • Always Fresh Seafood
  • Live Pianist Every Night
  • NEW! Happy Hour Tues-Sun

After being located in Queen Anne for nearly 15 years, Perche'no recently moved to Greenlake. You'll love our cozy atmosphere & our savory dishes made from scratch. We feature pastas, seafood & daily specials. Try one of the chef's variations on traditional Italian dish - the chocolate & mascarpone lasagna.

Our spacious outdoor patio is open in the summer, & we have a private dining room available upon request. Perche'no features traveling wine makers from Italy & offers cooking classes too. Perche'no has been featured in the Seattle Times & as a "Best Family Restaurant" by Seattle Metropolitan.

Our up coming events include Sunday Wine Tasting, a Three Course Pasta Night & a Five Course Wine Maker Dinner. See our website for dates & times.

New to Perche'no is HAPPY HOUR. Tue-Fri 2pm-5pm AND Tue-Sun 8pm-Close. We are also offering DAILY LUNCH SPECIALS from 11:30am-2pm Tue-Fri.

Editorial Review for Perche'no Pasta e Vino – by Citysearch Editors

The Scene
Lemon-chiffon colored walls and tables adorned with their own bright blue carafe of olive oil give the dining room of this Italian establishment an ambience of warmth and home-cooking. A long, winding staircase leads up to more seating overlooking the busy kitchen where one is sure to catch some of the alluring aromas of basil and garlic wafting upwards.

The Food
Eschewing the traditional Italian three-course meal, the menu offers a long list of pastas and a few daily specials. Portions are large, so diners are advised to start with something small--the marinated grilled Portobellos are a knockout. There are house-made pastas to please everyone at the table; regulars swear by the mushroom risotto and the creamy fettuchini alla Perche'No, topped with perfectly grilled shrimp. For dessert, the mascarpone "lasagna" is a bit much after a hearty meal, but ricotta drizzled with honey is a perfect not-too-sweet end.

This was a sad experience. Indeed, the owners are very friendly. They kept telling us we'd been there before, when we hadn't. Kind of odd. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful as well. Unfortunately, they deserve a better quality restaurant to work in. The cardinal sin of an Italian restaurant is overcooked pasta, and we got two plates of it. Just not good. I had boar fillets, which were fairly tasy, served with a raisin, pine nut, marsala wine sauce. Strangely, this was plated with two slices of beets and a little blop of the overcooked pasta in an orange sauce. The beets were too earthy tasting to go with the flavorless pasta and the whole plate was really unpleasant to look at with it's combination of brown, purple and orange food. My vegan friend asked for a simple plate of rigatoni and marinara sauce. The overcooked pasta really ruined even this dish. Another consideration is the noise level. I like bustle and that New Yorky feel, but this place is really, really noisy. We had a hard time talking to each other over the clatter. A decent wine selection didn't make up for the rest of the meal. I would never spend money here again.

I dream about eating the food here it is a must every-time I drive to Seattle, The owners are so personable and sent some great pictures of the birthday we celebrated there.

Pros: so much flavor not your typical bland restaurant food

Cons: they get so busy that it can be hard to get in or get parking

Why would Malaysians open an Italian restaurant? As they say in Italy, "Perche no?" ("Why not?")  See the full editorial review.
