The cupckaes are fantastic. They are a fabulous option instead of wedding cake. They can be made in multiple flavors and can have different decorations. Ballard is so fun and you could get a cupckae and then walk next door to the Majestic Bay for a movie. This place has chracter and in the summer, they have outdoor seating. There icing literally melts in your mouth.

This is a personal favorite of mine, and not just because it's in my neighborhood. Verite is a true neighborhood caf with heaps of distinction and charm. It's also clean and bright enough to please the most demanding visitor. The attached bakery also makes famous cupcakes. Verite is very child friendly and has free wireless networking. PROS: great cupcakes, child friendly, wireless networking CONS: not centrally located

Verite serves up a great latte, but it's the delicious and dense cupcakes by cupcake royale that are such a draw. Creamy buttercream frosting tops chocolate or vanilla cake. They come in regular and small. And the regular could easily pass for large! I especially recommend the mint flavored frosting!
