This Ballard sports bar has underwent both an expansion and a transformation in 2009 and has emerged grander, though with the same gritty, old-Ballard feel that it had before (and that regular at the end of the bar probably never moved during the whole reconstruction). The feel comes in part from the gruff but friendly bartenders. If you aren’t up for a seat at the bar for some witty banter with them, be sure to check out the new booths in the back, which come from the late, legendary Sunset Bowl. With football on the many TVs, game nights on Thursdays and live music on Fridays, there is almost always something interesting going on here, in addition to the daily food deals. The jerk wings are originals and not to be passed up by those with a taste for spice, and the giant mozzarella sticks exemplify great bar food.
