No muss, no fuss - just superb CUTS. Ever since my favorite two stylists left town (Rabia and Desiree, formerly of Zere Zero), like Goldilocks, I’ve been on the hunt for just-right when it comes to hair stylists and salons. Dropping by Ace today, I’m that much closer… thanks Lan for the fantastic cut!

Don’t let the word ‘barbershop’ in their name throw you off - this is a salon through and through. Ladies and gents, you can expect the full list of services of any salon from cuts to color to perms to waxing. Located across the street from the Post Office on Broadway, the salon is up off the street and tucked back, so look hard or you’ll miss it. The all Vietnamese staff here will take good care of you. My Asian peeps– they know how to handle our stubborn follicles!

Dropping by for a cut mid-morning on Saturday was totally doable, but you can call in ahead as well – no long waiting list here. The BEST part, Ace is incredibly affordable for the SHEAR skills they deliver to your locks. If you like to be the driver of your hair sessions, this is the spot for you – no overzealous stylist is going to make you their hairstyle guinea pig here. My dude cut and trim was impeccable, speedy, and only $20! Dare you to find a salon on the Hill that can match that value.

Parking is rough in this hood, but it is Capitol Hill after all. Ace is no muss, no fuss – the pricing here mirrors the aesthetics of the space… you’re paying for your hairdo not added on premiums that have more to do with being a spa-coffeehouse-boutique than a hair salon. The bumping, profanity-laced club beats blasting at Ace this AM was interesting choice of background music, but somehow unpretentious and charming. Have a hairdo vision in mind? Come and let Ace make it happen – you’ll have cash leftover for happy hour with the crew to show off the new ‘do.’ You will definitely come out all ACES.

Nice place, with skilled staff. I was always pleased with the haircuts I got here. The staff was polite, and the prices were reasonable. While going here, I never had a "favorite" stylist, but no matter which one I got, they always did a good job.

If you live in the Seattle area, and you need to get a haircut, this is the place to go.
