In the year 2010. $25 per person for a night of drinks and entertainment is inexpensive. If the female commentator thinks $50 is too much for her boyfriend to pay to take her out, then perhaps she should split the cost with him. What year is this?
Lo-fi: One of Seattle's hidden gems....
I've started hanging out at Lo-Fi on a regular basis as of late. After many years under the original founder and management, Lo-Fi was recently purchased by a nice guy named Scott who is often found behind the bar pouring pretty stiff drinks (yee-haw!) (and I don't belive a word of the previous reviewer who claimed they were overcharged for drinks....)
Music has been great lately with three great weeklies: "Stop Biting" on Tuesdays featuring hip-hop & breakbeats (and break dancers!); "SEAllective" on Wednesdays featuring a reunited Das Rut doing total improv funk soul & R&B (a super good night with $2 PBRs and $3 wells!) and the jazzy "The Hang" on Thursdays.
I love the vibe at this place, a great mix of live bands & DJs and there's lots of free parking in back. I nice eclectic mix of peeps on all nights. The once a month "Emerald City Soul Club" last week was off the hook and packed with a line stretching down the block. A big two thumbs up on this place!
awesome layout, fun atmosphere. This place has renewed my faith in Seattle. I am from LA and I think I know good/fun clubs. This place takes the high school drama out of clubs. There's no one uping, no nonsense. Guaranteed fun without all the pioneer square/beltown bs. Sure drinks could be cheaper, but it's a club and only a moron expects cheap drinks. probably has the best crowd in seattle. I was there for soul night and will be going to their hip hop night as well. check it out.
Nice place, HORRIBLE PRICES!!!!!!!. Been there a couple times, but this last time my boyfriend and I went, the bartender charged us $30 FOR 2 DRINKS! I ordered a Kettle One Vodka & RedBull- $10, he ordered a double Kettle One Vodka & RedBull- $20. WE COULD NOT BELIEVE IT! We went to the back room bar to see if there was a price difference- they didn't have Kettle One so we got a Grey Goose Vodka & RedBull. $8! A *little* bit better, but not by much. Including the $5 cover for each of us, we ended up spening $50 there! Most of it was for drinks! Although I like the layout and atmosphere, I'll probably never go back there again. What a rip-off!!!!!!!!!! If you don't plan to drink, then you'll enjoy it.
Intimate Eastlake performance hall offers a cultural but casual alternative to the club scene..
In Short
Underground and avant-garde types congregate in a small front lounge amid rotating installations of urban art on the walls. Patrons and employees talk like old friends and nod their heads to the beat as they follow the music down a long, dim-lit hall that empties into a high-ceilinged performance room. Varieties of performnces include everything from underground hip-hop to drum-and-bass and experimental. Windows behind the second bar offer a direct and unobstructed view of the Space Needle.
