Response to Undercooked Food.
We were told about this posting and how negative it was and we thought we should respond. We always strive make our guest happy, if they are not happy then we always comp our mistakes. If someone was not
happy with our salmon sandwich, it is our policy that we would immediately take it off their bill and make it up it up to them in some other way. Our restaurant is inspected on a regular basis (for the past 2 and a half years) we have always received an ABOVE average grade because it is so clean.
We pride ourselves on the fact that we have a OPEN kitchen, and because its open to the public, we go crazy making it look beautiful, because the public sees everything we doing every hour we are open. In fact, we created a bar top looking right into our kitchen so our Guests can eat and watch us cook at the same time. We are proud of this fact.. And because of this we are neat freaks and crazy about cleanliness. We even have an employee whose sole job is to CLEAN our restaurant 7 days a week. She works 3 to 4 hours every morning, before we open , cleaning our restaurant. ... top to bottom. Plus when ever the cooks are slow... you will always see them polishing the stainless steal. We may have some issues, like an hour wait for a table, sometimes louder than normal music or when were busy our servers are over loaded and our service down (so were forced to buy a drink if we can't get it to you in
4 minutes...) but we are not a unclean restaurant. That statement was not true and very hurtful. If this recent guest (name of blog guy) would like to revisit 520, we would love to show them around
and confirm all of the above. Sincerely, 520 management.
Great Bar...and Grill in Bellevue - Main Street.
Listen, this is a GREAT bar for what it is: really nice, usually busy outdoor seating, great bar food, a great bar with amazing drinks. Really nice servers. People are happy here and that is why it is usually packed. It's got a great energy to it, it's family owned and run and its a beautiful reprieve from the often times corporate atmosphere that pervade the Bellevue dining landscape.
Enjoy
Dangerous.
Be aware that this place has their staff light candles on their liquor shelves at dusk.
Can you imagine anything more dangerous than putting an open flame next to bottles of 80-90% proof alcohol?
This is a disaster waiting to happen....
What Bellevue Needed an Upscale Bar for us Adults. People been telling me about this place for a while... they say it reminded them of the old DUKES when they were in Downtown bellevue. A real neighborhood Bar where you could drop in and see your friends. So I stopped in last night (a wednesday) on the way home and it was buzzing. There were 2 birthday partys going on-- one was for a 45 year old Blond and the Other a beautiful 50 something devorcee. Wow! Everyone was having a blast. I saw bottles of Camas ($230+) and Rose Dom ($450+?) on the tables. Do people really drink this stuff. These Bellevue Up and ups know how to Entertain them selfs. What I liked was how Rich it felt but not Stuffy at all, it's the closest thing to being Bellevue's PUB -- in the true sence of the word. A 180 from what you see down in the Bellevue Square Nation. Its up beat, exciting, women and men in their 40's to 60's ( a treat from the 20 somethings I see everywhere else.) For once I didn't seem old. It looked like a real who's who of the area--- Medina Moms, M Softies, A Seahawk? The severs have fun and the bartenders are some nice eye candy. I was helped by an Amanda who was a breath of fresh air. I was so into the mood I didn't notice the food, it must have been good. For the price I paid. The bad news it's small but that also makes it cozy. Be ready to stand and rub elbows. They say in the hot months they open up the patio.
Expensive & Mediocre. My wife and I have been to 520 Bar & Grill 2x. Once during lunch, another try during dinner. Overall the menu is fairly unimaginative-boring overly priced burgers and so forth.Meals for quality are inconsistant. My wife's salmon sandwhich was not cooked all the way through while my burger was fine. Lunch service was great, friendly-waters filled etc. Dinner service was horrible-our waitress Tiffany was for lack of a better terms a b@#!ch. Honestly I could have better service, same meal quality at the Cheesecake factory for less money.
My own 'Cheers' bar with great food and wine!. The staff is friendly and I always feel welcome. Food and wine are great. Love the outdoor dining when weather permits.
Amazing Food and Wine!. I was apprehensive after reading the aforementioned reviews, but some friends wanted to meet there so we gave it a shot. First impressions: cozy and warm? an upscale irish pub feeling. We were greeted promptly and told to seat ourselves, kind of awkward but menus were waiting and water arrived right away. I was feeling like a glass of wine but after looking over their wine menu, I was surprised to see such a wide selection. We went with the servers recommendation?. Amazing wine!! The place filled up quickly and was hopping around 6pm. was loud crowded and fun at the same time. Service was great, friendly and prompt. Our menu questions were answered? we had great food, caesar dressing was incredible. A bit pricy but the meal and service was great. Parking was a bit of a hassle.
Not so 'Hot' Spot. The decor of this 'pub' is great, the food looked better than decent, but the service is atrocious! A greeting would have been nice by any one of the 4 servers I saw when I opened the door. No greeting, no smile, no nothing. We were there for 3 hours with no water refill and no attention paid to us unless we raised our hand to flag someone down. If I would have been with my husband, we would have left after the first ten minutes of no acknowledgement. This place needs to start showing the 'love' if they expect to be around next summer.
Worst Experience in a long time. Went there with high hopes of a good time. Instead we got really poor service and paid a lot for it. The waitress didn't acknowledge us or come over for quite awhile. When she finally did we got no introduction, no hello, just a "what would you like". Next I order a $6 draft beer (that's apparently what ALL their draft beers cost) and got a 14 OZ glass and a 12 OZ pour. We didnt even eat there because I was so disappointed already. After 10 mins of waiting with empty drinks, the server came by finally. I had to put my card out to indicate that we were ready for some service. The place wasn't even busy. I saw her cleaning tables before even coming over to talk to us. Overall irritating experience. I will never go back.
