Impressive find. I was very impressed with Barolo! So lovely and stylish, a perfect addition to a growing downtown that craves cosmopolitan action. When you add great food to a fantastic ambiance, you get Barolo. Busy, fun, loud enough where everybody is laughing without restraint, feminine but muscular. Even the bathrooms are an experience; decorated with a sensual combination of mirrors and metals. Quality hand soap and luxuriant-pretty logo printed hand towels to dry your hands. Service is casual, non pompous and polished

Hippest place in Seattle. I love this restaurant!! Great food, great service, great location, great staffing. We are having our office Holiday party here and I can't wait. This is a must try!

Really good dinner. It?s mid-week in Seattle and I?m thinking about a placid dinner with my friend. Have you heard of Barolo? He says?. Go online to make a reservation, NO TABLES until 10 PM. Something is wrong with the online system, let?s call them. Sorry, we are full until 10 tonight. Plan B: let?s have dinner in the bar. We showed up around 9 and found out why this restaurant is so popular. It?s like walking into another world. Chicago/New Yorkish feeling, well dressed people and a profuse sense of professional coolness/boldness surrounds the confident management that walks up and down the crowded room and the bar. We ask: what are the odds of getting a table in the dining room? We had a cancellation, I?ll take you right in. To make a long story shorter, Barolo was an outstanding experience. We loved the food and the atmosphere. We?ll be regulars and tell our friends to go there.

Loved it all. Websites are often not the perfect reflection of what you will encounter once you show up at a restaurant. In Barolo?s case, it is. When I searched for a new place to experience in Seattle, Barolo impressed me with it?s website. But the best was yet to come! Pre-dinner in the bar, attentive hostess, really good service at the table and great food. All the above in a brilliant setting, praise to the architects. Stand-outs: octopus with beans in port sauce, fresh homemade pasta with rabbit and the best tiramisu in Seattle. The wine list is packed with choices, we picked a Barolo (out of many) to honor the great name.

Tortelloni from dreamland. The highlight of the night was this superb dish called ?Tortelloni?. According to the server it means ?big tortellini?. They are shaped like tortellini but made as a much bigger version. Wild mushroom filling and black truffle-parmigiano sauce makes the dish the best pasta I tasted in a decade. Everything thing else was great as well but I can?t stop thinking about that one devilish pleasure! If you love wine you are at the right place at Barolo; solid list, reasonably priced as well. Great service must be mentioned at beautiful Barolo

Ignore the 'Tude and go for the FOOD!. Gorgeous interior...extremely well designed. Both aesthetically and in use of space. Food is phenomenal. Sauces particularly stand out. Happy hour is a great deal and evenings in the dining room will undoubtedly impress. My one gripe (and I visit often, so it is a consistent disappointment) is the gloomy service. I have never seen wait staff/bartenders ever look so downtrodden and miserable! Attitude??? Lack of interest??? A smile would go a long way (and not just when you put down the check). But, alas...it is Seattle after all.

secret hot seattle spot?. i'm a huge fan of happy hour. i'd donate one of my kidneys if happy hour needed a transplant. barolo just re-confirmed my love.

i walked into barolo at 3, just after reading about 8 reviews on citysearch, and it was dead. a good sign? not usually... but i was seated, and given a menu, browsed some very nice looking menu items (with great prices) and decided i was hungrier than i thought. i ordered the antipasti, the rigatoni, and the burger. my server, a friendly and good looking young guy, eyed my date and i, and informed us politely that we might be ordering too much. i simply smiled, and ordered a glass of barolo as well. i figure, if you're going to get a burger, antipasti, and pasta for 20 bucks, might as well get the best wine by the glass, right?

our antipasti arrived, and maybe it's because of the menu similarities barolo shares with volterra, but i was thinking something small and cute, this was NOT small, and cute would be an insult.

my antipasti was enormous, stunning to look at, and too good to eat it all, i had to take some home.

our burger and pasta arrived, the burger was elegantly plated, very very tasty, and enough for two to split. the pasta was quite possibly one of the best ragu sauces i've ever tasted, i had to take the rest of it to go as well.

my only disappointment? the glass of barolo. now, i love wine, heck, i even love italian wine. but when your food is out-of-sight amazing, don't bother with a low-end barolo, just because it's got an expensive name. drink whatever the server suggests. our server had mentioned the happy hour wine, and like a snob, i glanced at it's common vintage and passed it up. now i'm not complaining, if you dig tuscan wines, our barolo was good, but the food was way better.

next time i dine there (soon, i hope) i'll go for dinner, and happily pay full price. but i'll probably try the house wine.

Superior service. We were looking for a special place to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday...she had heard great things about Barolo. We arrived without a reservation and were disappointed to learn there were no tables until much later that night. As we were trying to come up with plan B, I mentioned to the hostess we were out to celebrate a special birthday...she was able to do some tweaking and we were led to a beautiful table and proceeded to enjoy a lovely meal. The waiter made an excellent wine recommendation, our meals were exceptional and the service just right. Don't miss the grilled caesar salad ...it was amazing!! Overall , a lovely evening and one we won't soon forget!

Great Friday night. We were seated at a 20 feet long solid walnut table, illuminated with gorgeous Italian chandeliers and flickering candles. A giant mirror against the wall made the dazzling atmosphere more spectacular. Because we had a large party, we had to pick from one of their set menus. Every course (five on our menu) was delectable, well presented and timed right. Our server was especiallyattentive and cordial. I was very impressed by the gnocchi, positively the best since my trip to Italy a few years ago.

Barolo shines. My wife and i have been to Barolo many times now since their opening about one year ago and things keep on getting better. Besides the two of us,we have dined there in small groups and with large parties. In any situation Barolo managed to provide us with a great experience. Both food and service are outstanding and we are always pleased with the new addition to an already great menu. The service is professional and non intrusive, the food is amongst the best Italian food we have ever experienced. The staff at the door is very welcoming and we have always been seated promptly for our reservations. The ambiance at Barolo is chic and hip.Tthis restaurant could very well be in New York, Miami or any other great city. We also have had the opportunity to meet the owners who seem to always be there. They truly care about their customers and it shows by the way they work the dining room. We would encourage anyone who hasen't tried Barolo yet to put it on their "Places to go next" list. A very well thought out wine list with plenty of choices for any pocket is the "icing on the cake"
