Tasty Italian downtown. Linger over your Gnocchi al Fagioni in this stylish eatery or head to the bar during happy hour where good food, and good deals, are to be had.

This luxe downtown room serves up Northern Italian fare including house made pastas, antipastas and grilled meats. Don't miss the grilled caesar, leg of lamb ragu, Barolo hangar steak or Trinidad cane mojito.

The daily happy hour 3:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. and and 10:00 p.m. - close is a great value. Think 50% off the entire bar menu and $14 bottles of wine.

Outdoor seating is a plus.

Housemade pastas, fantastic happy hour, valet parking and stellar Italian wine list. Fresh fish options are too be taken advantage of.

Had one of my all time favorite meals here two years ago. Tonight was a little disappointing although the wife's meal was great. Had osso buco on what was supposed to be saffron risotto but was some kind of bland pilaf and the veal was fatty and mediocre in taste. Service and everything else was great but this being one of the higher price entres it was disappointing. I have been there several times and will return in the future as this was the only item so far that wasn't great.

Happy Hour is the Best! – You can't beat the happy hour at this place. It starts at 10pm and goes til midnight. Loooove their calamari spaghetti and grilled caesar salad. The bar is a tad small, and it's really loud at times, (hence, the minus one star), but the food is insane, especially for the pricing.

Amazing Northern Italian Food – I had been to Barolo several times for happy hour (which is great by the way!) but was SO excited to try them on my birthday and they definitely delivered. First of all, the happy hour is amazing. $14 bottles of wine and half prices appetizers that do not skimp on the portions. My girl friend and I had two appetizers and a salad and we couldn't finish it all! I think our total bill was $23.

The dinner is definitely a must visit for special nights out. My boyfriend had the veal- meltingly tender and falling off the bone in a rich sauce. I had a velvety truffle leek pasta- we seriously could not have asked for a more exquisite meal.

We skipped the desserts on the menu in favor of port- good choice since everything was so filling! I would absolutely go back for my boyfriend's birthday but until the next special event, I'll keep myself satisfied with the lovely happy hour.

Worth the trip from Austin, TX – Came into town on business. Was told by local business owner this was the place to eat. I didn't have reservations but showed up anyway. The owners and staff squeezed us in despite being booked. Took care of us with the highest respect, attentiveness, and care. Food was just like my grandmother's and ambiance perfect for all ages (not too loud yet fun and hip). Clean, neat, knowledgable staff. 100% classy all the way. Just the way I like it. I am a marketing mgr for a fortune 100 company and pay attn to detail. Being Italian myself, I will be back for SURE upon my return into town! Thank you to the entire staff & ownership at Barolo!

Small portions of mediocre food – Despite the very lovely ambience and friendly staff, I found the food quite average. I will say that they serve a very tasty salad that includes truffle oil (delicious) but everything else was disappointing. The spaghetti with scallops basically was a LOT of oil on spaghetti and a few SHAVED tiny pieces of scallops. The chocolate tortini was about the size of a Hershey kiss and the mixed drinks from the bar were weak. Downtown has many better restaurant options.

Love it! – Hello all,

The food was great but our waitress was preoccupied with her personal agenda.

Bread slow, water slow...she was just slow.....

But again, the food was great...

Ciao

Inhospitable Bar – My experience was not a pleasant one. My husband and I wanted to check out this new and happening place we heard about, we walked from my husbands office about a mile with our bags in tow hoping to have a drink or two. We got there early 5:00 pm. We could not find a seat, mainly because other patrons were saving them for their friends that may show up or not......................I am fine with standing, the first thing when I got to the corner to stand, some patrons informed me the seats were taken. At this time I can see the place is crowded, I am not planning on staying but you would think I could stand there and at least have a drink . I then move away down a few seats to stand and again by another patron am advised he is saving two seats. I don't want their seats, I want a nice glass of wine and get the hell out of this pretentious place.

In the meantime the bartender ( female) ignores the whole situation. My husband orders us two glasses of wine. We were there probably 45 mins and then we were offered the seats because the friends were not showing up until later, or not at all. What a surprise?/Why would you not offer the seats untilyour friends show up? My question is "how much business are you losing letting patrons save seats?" The biggest thing for me was how the bartender just ignored uslike " were to cool to serve you a drink " Of course this is all my perception. I want Barolo to know I nor my husband will be back and we will let everyone know of the most unhospitable bar in Seattle
