Delicious veggie plate!
by jodito at Citysearch
I visited Cafe Yeshi for dinner tonight and although I was hesitant based on reviews I had read, I was pleasantly surprised with a delicious meal and friendly service by "T." I can see where others may have been put off by its relaxed atmosphere, but my boyfriend and I appreciated the genuinely friendly service and conversation. The vegetable plate was delicious, and I can't wait to return to try something new!
- Pros: Friendly service, Generous portions
- Cons: Street parking hard to find

BY WORST THE WORST EXPERIENCE I EVER, ENCOUNTER IN ANY RESTAURANT.
I BIN PART OF THE WORLD , WERE YOU ENCOUNTER SEVERAL BAD SERVICE AND UNSANITARY CONDITION, BUT IN SEATTLE.BUT THIS IS BY FARE THE WORST, AS I FIRST WALK IN, THERE WERE NOBODY FOR 2-3 MINUTE, IN MY WAY OUT, SO PERSON SHOWED UP, AND EXPLAIN TO ME HE WAS WORKING, HE TOLD ME TO SEAT AND BROUGHT ME THE MENU, I THOUGHT FOR MOMENT TO ASK HIM TO TAKE A BATH, HE WAS SMELLING REAL BAD, I DECIDE TO GO WITH TIBS AND VEGGIE. I WAS CROSSING MY HAND, THAT HE AT LIST WASH HIS HANDS. THE FOOD WAS SERVED, THEY WERE NO TASTE WHATEVER, AFTER I HAD COUPLE BITE MY STOMACH ,START MAKING ALL KIND SOUND SO I DECIDE TO STOP. AND TOLD HIM IF I COULD HAVE IT TO GO. HE ASK ME IF EVERYTHING WAS RIGHT, WILE HE CLEAN HIS NOSE, WITH HIS HAND`S. I REPLAYED, AND SAY EVERYTHING FINE,I AM JUST TIRED. SHOULD GO HOME. HE SAY QUOT(WHY DON`T YOU BUY SOME GANJA-WEED IT WILL RELAX YOU, IS GOOD FOR YOU MAN) COULD BELIEVE WHAT I WAS HEARING,I PAYED $24.00
AND LEFT. BAD FOOD, BAD SERVICE, AND DEALER TOO. I HOPE THE CITY DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Undelightful Experience at Cafe Yeshi
by glory22 at Citysearch
To begin with, I was really embarrased to have this dinning experience with a friend of mine that I convinced would be a very pleasant and fabulous experience, assuming that we were going to get more or less the same kind of service and hospitality, like the other Ethiopian restaurants that I have dinned either alone for a quick lunch, or with my ex-husband Andy.
I was shocked, flagerbusted, and extremely disappointed by the experience my friend and I had, the moment we stepped in Cafe Yeshi.
The waiter we encountered, who is of dark-skinned complexion, with a short dread-lock started giving remarks, that was rather strange, and out of bounds about Tanya's (my friend) dress. This is without even giving us the seat we requested, insisting that he knows best where to sit us. This made my friend extremely uncomfortable.
The table cloth was visibly dirty and all wrinkled. He brought us the menu, and we settled for a vegitarian dish with the injera-the soft pan-cake like bread that you wrap the sauce with to eat. As soon as this same waiter left with our orders to the kitchen, we could hear him expressing his remarks to the rest with words that are so rude and vulgar that I don't even wish to repeat.
The bathroom was so dirty, with no towels, or paper towels of any kind. The portion of the food they serve is relatively very small for the price that you pay. It was one of the most terrifying experience that I personally had encountered, especially from an Ethiopian restaurant, where prior to this experience, every Ethiopian eatery that I have gone to was far more delightful, leaving you with the impression that you can come back at any time and have an excellent service and dinning experience.
I wouldn't recommend it to anybody, who is curious in trying Ethiopian cuisine.
- Cons: Ver inefficient in all ways imaginable
We say Yesh! to Yeshi!

I have been to this restaurant 3 times since we discovered it in April and it's great! I always get the veggie combo, and it is my favorite veggie combo of the 5 Ethiopian places I've been to in Seattle. The spinach sambusa is delicious, but they only had it once- they said it is usually a lunch menu item. The menu is small, I think only 4 or 5 options, but that doesn't bother me and it fits with the homey feel. 2 friends have tried the beef stew and both report that it is very good. I'll keep going there whenever I'm in the mood for Ethiopian food!
- Pros: Delicious food, friendly service
- Cons: Menu items are sometimes unavailable
