What the heck happened??.
I haven't been here in a couple of months, but something/someone has to have changed in the kitchen. The tamales aren't even mediocre now and they used to be so good. And the queso chili dip had that burned-in-the-pan, scooped-off-the-top, flavor that is definitely noticeable and not very tasty. And their "made from scratch" chips were those round ones that you get in the really big bag from Costco. They used to have hands down THE best made-from-scratch bloody mary's in the city.........and this time you could tell it was from scratch, but not really all that good and definitely not good enough to order a second one. Really disappointing because I love Bandits and it's usually so good.
I'm sure I'll be back to give it another try or two...maybe it was just a bad night. The bartender was fantastic as always, though, so at least that hasn't changed.
So not a dive bar. It may look like a dive bar from the outside but this bar totally kicks but. I'm always happy with the service I get. Bartenders are awesome. These is even a group of guys that are allowed to have their weekly poker game there. It may be small but I like it.
Great prices, awesome tamales and kick back atmosphere. Dude, we love this bar! Never crowded and the drinks are strong ! The bartenders are always really nice and friendly, and the red walls and lighting make it really kick-back!
Best bar in the neighborhood!. My fave! I heart this place. Great drinks, great tamales, and the best bartenders in town. If you like a spicy cocktail, try the blazin? saddle - slightly sweet with a major kick. Everyone who I have introduced to bandits has fallen in love with its charm. I wish I was there right now?
Stick to beer and enjoy your tamale. The atmosphere is a little strange (too wide open, seemed like the Wild West stuff was thrown together at the last moment with props from Costume & Display) and the cocktails are too alcoholic and not very good. But hey--there's plenty of beer on tap and in bottles, and, seriously, the best tamales in Seattle. And you can't beat the happy hour prices. You can get out of there, tipsy, well-fed and only $10 poorer.
A Wild West theme pervades at this small bar between Belltown and lower Queen Anne..
In Short
Dark red walls, accented by shingles and wooden shutters suspended from the ceiling, help create a frontier saloon atmosphere, while horseshoes and pistols hanging on the walls further evoke the theme. Patrons can sit at the long bar and watch themselves in the large mirror or grab a seat at one of the round bar tables. There's a long by-the-bottle beer list, including every Texan's favorite, Shiner Bock.
Fun little spot, hidden away for your drinking pleasure. Enjoyable neighborhood bar with a great bar staff, fun local crowd, (really) good and stiff drinks, and killer tamales.
Amazing Tamales! Great staff and stiff cocktails!. Bandits has a great setting for kicking it with your friends. The Tamales are out of this world and the drinks an staff are top noch.
