Insider Secrets
by Shane98270 at Citysearch
Hey Everyone, If you've come this far my guess would be you are looking to get a tattoo or piercing and are not sure of where to get it done. Let me first say, my name is Shane and I spent almost the past year and a half of my life in that little shop. I came in on the morning of july 27th to find I no longer had a job there. No reasoning, I was simply fired. During my time there, many things came to my concern.
First off, the individuals working the counter are all underpaid making the equivalent of anywhere from $3-$4 and hour. The injustice is ridiculous.
Secondly, No matter how nicely you are treated, 90% of the customers have sh*t talked about them after they leave the shop. I know this because I witnessed it for a year and a half.
Third, the shop does not dispose of their contaminated sharps. The sharps are stored inside their sterilization room, underneath a counter.
Fourth, The piercer/owner (Saint D aka Dylan Larsen) lives in the shop. Talk about a huge cross-contamination risk. I cannot count how many times I have seen him take gunk covered jewelry out of his ears and put it down on a counter or even worse, the piercing table. Not to mention the fact he probably doesn't shower that often.
Fifth, The building is in such poor condition, it is potentially hazardous. There is mold growing in the ceiling. Mold means airborne spores throughout the entire shop. Not only that but the floors are rotting away.
Finally, The aftercare given for piercings is a joke. They distribute an aftercare sheet which is put out by the association of professional piercers. You would figure they would be familiar with their own aftercare but they are not. They instruct customers to use dial soap (as pointed out by "russandmegan" below while the aftercare by the AP says to avoid it, and they also tell customers to use mouth-wash every time after eating, drinking, smoking, and kissing whereas the aftercare specifically says do not overuse mouthwash, and to only rinse "occassionally throughout the day."
All in all, if you are looking to get a tattoo, pay Keith Bailey a visit at Anvil Tattoo, He's a phenomenal artist and seeing as the whole shop uses single use disposable equipment, there is no need to worry about sterility.
If this interests you, Stay tuned, A full-featured website containg pictures and video evidence of the things I mentioned will be coming soon. If you really want to look out for the safety of this town, I'd say call the washington state department of health and report Dylan Larsen for living in Infusion Studio LLC in direct violation of Washington State Law.
And as per those of you who still work there, This is not the last you will hear from me. With betrayal and deceipt comes consequences. I trusted you guys, and you screwed me over. Better start looking for new jobs.
