Poor service, average cuisine, above average prices

by apwestsea at Citysearch

My husband and I used to think fondly of Luciano's. They've done well by us in the past. This evening, hoping to catch a movie at the cinema across the street, we decided to dine at Luciano's because most of our other mainstays seemed swamped with dinner-rush crowds. Luciano's was quiet, with plenty of empty tables, which initially I chose to interpret in an "oasis of calm" way but ended up seeing more in a "sepulchral aura of a dying business" way. While cordial, our servers apparently decided that my husband and I were not a priority. He did not read us the specials list, he did not provide a wine list, and kept contact with us to a bare minimum. The food took over 30 minutes to arrive and was only of average quality, the portions sparse, and the dishes lukewarm as if they had been left sitting in the kitchen. People seated after us were served before us. My wine order was completely forgotten. I will not be returning to Luciano's, and would warn others away. There are far better places to eat even within shouting distance.

Real italian food

My mother is Italian and Luciano makes gnocchi that are exactly like hers (gnocchi are meant to be soft!). I usually order them with Bolognese sauce (meat sauce) instead of the gorgozola sauce because I am used to eating them like that.

Their homemade pasta is really delicious too. It always feel like Sunday lunch at home at Luciano's.

HORRIBLE! DO NOT GO!

by rose4568 at Citysearch

Worst dining experience in a very long time.

I showed up to get a table for 5. There were a ton of tables available, on a Friday night. Not a great sign. I stood at the front desk for AT LEAST 5 minutes before any staff acknowledged me.

As they sat me at my table, there was a couple with a little girl who was crying. the accoustics in this place are allllll echooooo. No one likes a crying baby while you eat, but what the staff did to the family was much worse.

The waiter came up to the mother and said "this isn't gonna work out, you need to take her outside". The mother asked him for a bowl and he said "what do you need a bowl for", then he freeked out, put his hands in her face and screamed "I JUST NEED HER TO STOP CRYING".

I was mortified for the mother. They left the "Ristorante" and I would have followed if my party hadn't just walked in.

We orded. The food took at least 30 minutes, and they FORGOT my brother in laws entree. They whipped it up real quick in the back and it was the most bland rediculous $14 pasta dish i've ever seen. My salad had zero flavor in the dressing. It was a bacon avacado salad and there was maybe one slice of avacado and few baco's.

TRUST ME, Olive garden would be money better spent.

Took all of my self control not to ring the waiters neck who treated those poor people like that. WILL NEVER BE BACK!

One of my favorites!

I also don't know why there are so many bad reviews. I have eaten here about 10 times and love it. I like that you don't usually have to wait hours for a table. The food is great... the desserts are excellent. My only complaint would be that the tables are pretty close together, but it's not that big of deal for me.

going there next week! yum!

Bad Bad and bad

by Marijane at Citysearch

Last night we went to Luciano's as a family to have a dinner, but the waiter was very unfriendly all the time and he got very mad when i complained about the horrible chesse pizza that him brought to our table. It was the worst pizza that i saw in my life!!! Inacetable for a "italian" ristorante !!! The rest our food was already prepackaged and warmed up !!! No wonder the place was empty !!!! Very bad service and bad food!!!! Stay away!!
