Horrible Customer Service. Recently received request to dine at this Queen Anne restaurant. I had high hopes, but it fell terribly short due to the incompetent staff. I kindly & discreetly asked to speak to the Mgmt, but was told with an eye-roll that "they are never around." Nonetheless, chicken was moist, but nonthing memorable. Luckily there are other great choices in Queen Anne.

Deceptive Happy Hour. List Martinis as $6 on Happy hour menu... But only Martinis on menu do not count... False advertizing and they admit it...

boring. Betty has been on our list for a quite a while, and, sorry to say, the food was not worth the wait or the price. the appetizer goat cheese timbale was unappealing visually and was kind of mushy flavor mess. The duck confit in the confit salad fell quite short of what duck confit can be when prepared well. it was very moist, perhaps too much so, and lacked any flavor and skin/crispiness. the $13 betty burger should have been better than it was--you can buy a much better burger at 1/2 the price at a lot of other places in seattle. the mushroom and pea tagliatelli seemed to derive all of its taste from a swim in a sea of butter. our waiter was ok, but left us sitting for long stretches--maybe he thought we wanted a long romantic dinner, which was not what we were after on a "school" night. all in all, pretty disappointing and certainly not worth the price or a return visit.

Fun to sit at bar, a bit overpriced. We sat at the bar and it was really great to watch them cook. the service was impeccable, the wine was fabulous. The avocado/prawn crostini was FANTASTIC, the lasagna was just OK. I thought it was a bit overpriced.

It's worth trying a couple times, or for drinks at the bar, but I probably won't set out to go again.

I Heart Steak Frites. I made a reservation to take my BFF out to dinner for her bday at Betty last night. Maybe I was in a great mood because of the sunshine and the fact that I found an amazing parking space next to the restaurant but I had a lovely time at Betty. We really wanted to try everything on the menu and if I had a larger expense account, I would have! However, we decided to share the shrimp and avacado crostini, clams and chorizo and the steak frites. Everything was prepared really well. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and they were huge! I never would have thought to pair them with the buttery avacado and tomato jam but it was a perfect summer starter. The clams and chorizo came in a delicious broth and they kept bringing bread for us to sop it up with. And then came the steak. It was a larger portion than I had anticipated. Though there was more fatty bits than I would have liked, the mustardy gravy and the ginormo pile of frites rounded out the plate nicely.

As for the general ambiance, my friend commented that Betty might be a depressing place to be in the winter, with the slate grey walls and the industrial accents. The waitress seemed a bit awkward but she was knowledgeable. I was half impressed, half weary about the little bowl of sea salt on each table. Whose fingers have been in there? It looked okay- and it's just salt. Anyway, we were stuffed when we left and we had a good time. I hope you all have the same experience I did.
