The facility is nice. It was recently remodeled. The kids have a great outdoor play area. Unfortunately, the facility is poorly managed. Turnover should be expected in any day care, but management doesn't communicate staffing changes very well to the parents. Kids attach to their teachers pretty strongly, and as a parent I don't appreciate not knowing that staff is being shifted around or that a teacher is leaving after it has already happened. The most recent teacher to leave from my daughter's classroom put in a full two week notice, but we didn't know that he was leaving until after he had already gone. The kids had no chance to say good-bye or to mark the transition in a healthy way. Suddenly one of the adults in their life is just gone, with no chance to say good bye. That is disrespectful to the kids. In the year that our kid has been there the room has been through a lot of teachers. I rarely received an introduction to the new teachers and never did one of the new ones come up to introduce themselves to me. The rooms can be chaotic. More than a few times I have picked up my kid and have seen far more kids than the state mandated teacher-student ratio requres. This is the first daycare that my kid has been in where the teachers don't make a point of saying hello in the morning as we come through the door. Drop-off can be difficult even with the warmest welcome, but we don't usually get any real acknowledgment from the teachers until my kid has been hanging on to me for five minutes, crying. The room is chaotic at times, with kids fighting over toys. There are just too many kids, and the teachers aren't certified in early childhood education so they don't have the skills to really manage that size of a room. I'd avoid this place until management changes. Current management seems afraid to communicate staffing changes to the parents. This isn't a place that focuses on teaching as much as on just keeping the kids for the day.
Pros: Nice facility, some good teachers
Cons: Weak management, lack of parental communications, class size
