Others are just plain gross. The tripe had good flavor but the pieces were too big. The chicken feet was good. If you don't wan to drive into town, this place is ok. Just be careful what you order.
Worst Meal I ever paid for. It could be great except the windows to unkempt gardens and a murky pond are covered with bird crap, the condiment jars and their holders sticky and covered with food, poorly washed silverware and dishes, a filthy carpet and a wait staff that just can't communicate in English, and clearly doesn't care about customers. The food was disgusting. About all a visit to this place is worth it to gather a few details to pass along to Snohomish County health offricials. Thoroughly disgusting. We sent everything back and still were forced to pay. No shame. No tip, either, and no return. But we did file a complaint with the health department.
Citysearch Editorial Review. Many Seattleites will tell you that you’ve got to drive north to Vancouver for good dim sum, but this Mill Creek establishment has them stopping a little short. With the front in a plain strip mall, you’ll be surprised when you enter and there is truly a zen garden in the back, complete with gentle stream and picturesque waterfall. Zen Garden refutes the rule that if the view is good, the food is bad, though, with skillfully crafted dim sum and dumplings supported by authentic Chinese specials in a gorgeous setting. In the evening, when dim sum hours are long gone, dinner of fresh seafood dishes dominate the menu.
Great banquet, outstanding service.
Our son and daughter-in-law had their wedding reception at Zen Garden
(Mill Creek, WA) in August. The guests included relatives from
Bangkok, Vancouver, B.C. and the L.A. area where authentic Chinese
cuisine abound in neighborhood restaurants. The banquet at Zen Garden
exceeded our expectations. Each dish was beautifully presented with
the perfect balance of flavor. The ingredients were first-rate and
the service was outstanding. The guests did not feel rushed as each
dish was served at a comfortable pace. The garden added to the
ambiance and the beautiful atmosphere of the restaurant. It is not
easy to find a Chinese restaurant with a great setting for a
wedding reception in the Seattle area. Zen Garden has succeeded in
meeting that expectation.
Worst in town. I would rate zero if you could..
Food came cold and not all at once. Shrimp dish came 15 min. Before other horrid food.
Very hard menu and misleading. Make sure you ask the price of your orders since price listed may be single serving and they charge you 4 times the listed price.
If you don't like something don't bother complaining they can't accept that they may be wrong.
Waiter argued with me 4 times after I told him I did not want to argue about the bad dish. Almost walked out.
Cold, glue like, flavorless chow main. I tried several types but they were all bad.
I didn't try the dim sum some say it's ok.
Very poor service the table next to me waited like 20 min for their check. Our waiter dumped off the food and never came back. I tried to wave him down but he would not look. Did not ask how food was, bring more tea or anything.
I looked around the restaurant and nothing has been updated since the place closed 10 years ago and sat vacant. Same dirty floors, Same x-mas decorations still on the walls from 10+ years ago. Dirty chair cushions. Piles of garbage next to restrooms. Gross place!
Love the ambience. This place is lovely. Especially, if they give you a table with a view of the greater part of the gardens. The food is wonderful. Broccoli beef is excellent. Mongolian beef is good. Love the baked BBQ pork buns. The Dim Sum is wonderful. The waiters are very attentive. I do feel they should give tea free though. A wonderful way to spend a couple of hours with out of towners.
Good food, good prices, wonderful atmosphere!. This place is great! Non greasy Chinese food! Good food, good prices, wonderful atmosphere! New owners and they are working hard to make the restaurant successful. Sometimes the staff is a little slow and there is a language barrier at times...but if you can relax and enjoy the view it's one of the best restaurants in Mill Creek!
Horrible Food, but Great View. I read about this place in our local paper. Turns out is has been closed for many years and now it has new owners. I read in the paper about the beautiful garden and wanted to check it out. We first go in and it looks nice, we wait about 5 minutes while the lady at the front was taking someones order over the phone and even though the place was pratically empty and there were at least 5 staff members there doing nothing didn't help us. We are finally seated and see the beautiful garden. It was cool that there was a plexi glass floor that you can see the pond through by our table. We just sat down and they ask us what we wanted to drink which we had no time to look at the menu so they give us a few minutes. Well a few minutes turned into 10 minutes. Then the lady at the front comes over and ask us if our order has been taken and we replied no and she just leaves with no response. Five minutes pass by and we have a new waiter and we finally get to order. Soups come out and they were all salty. We got our main dishes and they were all salty again. It was so bad that we were drinking a lot of water. We finally get the bill and we have to go up to the front to pay it. A lady rang our credit cards through and then our waiter appears. She hands him the slips to give us even though we are right in front of her. He waits there to see we put down as a tip which really made me upset. I know they have dim sum there that I wanted to try, but after this dinner I won't be ever going back. Though the garden looked really nice even though we didn't get a chance to tour it since it was already dark.
