OWNER OF KINGS TUX PLEASE READ.
I am the owner of Kings Tux. The slanderous reviews written in August of 2008 are all from the same wedding party instigated by the groom. The majority of his/their accusations are false and/or exaggerated. We return all phone calls in a timely manor. At times if we are busy helping customers we give priority to them as to answering the phone. In this event we return calls at our next available moment. This is spoken on our voice mail message. We correct all sizing errors regardless of whether we made the mistake or another tuxedo shop did, as some of our customers are from out of state or in other distant cities and have their measurements taken from a competitor shop. This is the industry norm and we all do it as a courtesy for each other. The “quality” of our tuxedos is the finest in the industry and our prices are lower or the same as our competition dependant on the tuxedo; this is a fact and not an opinion. We offer what we call a “Final Fitting” two to three days prior to a wedding or special event so at that time if a garment doesn’t fit properly we have adequate time to correct it, this includes a button falling off(it takes five minutes to repair).
It is very unfortunate that internet companies publish information written by anyone who can write nearly anything they want about you without verifying the integrity of its content. This customer was very hostile to me and my staff when he and his group arrived panicked two hours late for their final fitting appointment and demanded to put in front of a group that was here on time at their scheduled time. We made every effort possible to help them as it was clear they were behind schedule, all while enduring demeaning and belligerent comments. I watched one of the men pull so hard on a waist adjustment; he broke it and then claimed we have poor quality tuxedos. It is very evident this customer and his group had and have malicious intent.
From time to time items do not fit accurately and we either make the adjustment in house or re-order an item that does. This is all part of the tuxedo process and items don’t fit for a variety of reason, including people losing weight as many people go on diets and become more physically fit to be in top shape for their wedding and honeymoon. Our measurement accuracy is above average in the industry but we do make errors from time to time, but this was not the case with this group.
After the wedding, one tuxedo jacket was returned 3 weeks late and another tuxedo was returned one week late. We were unable to collect any late fees from them and left it at that.
I take great pride in what I do and have hundreds of happy customers. Please be fair and objective when reading any review you read on line. Thank you!
Product and Service Just Fine.
My husband and I made an appointment to be measured for his tuxedo after our son already paid for all the tuxedos for the members of his wedding party. When we went to King's Tux, no one was there, despite the fact that we had a confirmed appointment. Repeated phone calls to the business phone number were unanswered. Thus I went online where I saw four negative reviews. I was more than a bit concerned.
Several days after the missed appointment, Mark called to say he had been very ill and was admitted to the hospital. We set up another appointment. At that time I requested copies of the receipts for each tux and expressed my concerns to him. I also asked if there were a back-up plan in place in case of a future emergency.
Our concerns were unfounded. The evening the wedding party arrived to be fitted, everything was there and just as ordered. No buttons were missing, nor did any fall off. We returned the tuxes in two batches, both within the time frame we discussed with Mark. The store is not conveniently located for us, but we did have several times for returns.
I would not hesitate to recommend this store to friends I am aware that, if you are the one whose wedding is ruined, you are angry enough to write one or more negative reviews. However, in fairness to Mark, I thought we should put our story out there as well.
Worst Tux Experience EVER.
Well, if you are expecting to have quality customer service and prompt, accurate results, this place is not for you. I had a destination wedding, and used this place because they were the only place I could find that had the color tux that we needed. Now, the tuxes looked good when I tried them on, but when we actually got them... awful. Poor quality, things popped off, stuff didn't fit, etc. Now, I know that buttons falling off isn't King's Tux fault, but it is. They know the quality and still choose to use the supplier. They must bring in a good profit per tux because the quality was awful and the supplier can't charge that much for such poor quality.
The only positive was that when we needed a new jacket, it was shipped overnight as promised. The problem was that this place never answers their phone, nor do they call people back. They change measurements and then when things don't fit, they blame Mens Warehouse. Zero accountability. My father-in-law was a 9 in shoes, and they sent a 10.5. It was a horrible, horrible experience. They will try to be nice and open with you when you are looking, but when you finally use their services, it's horrible.
Finally, when I rented the tuxes, I paid for all 9 tuxes in full right up front because it would be too difficult for everyone to pay them. 3 days before the wedding, my brother is picking up the tuxes, and the guy calls and tells me that he couldn't find my payment and we owed the money still. Now, for 9 tuxes, the total was about $1400. You would think I'd remember a $1400 charge on my credit card? It took about 10 minutes but they finally found the payment. Just horrible, unprofessional customer service. All of the ratings on this page are DEAD ON. Avoid at ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Worst customer service and quality experience of my life.
King's Tux is THE LAST place I would ever recommend anyone go for a tuxedo rental. Luckily enough I was not actually in my friend's wedding, but his experience was so terrible that it affected every one of his friends. 3 of the tuxes were sized incorrectly in a wedding party of 7. Pants had to be hemmed and new size jackets ordered and shipped next day air because it was a destination wedding like the two gentlemen above. I had to sit there and watch my friend, who was getting married the next day, call them over and over to have them overnight the correct items. He never answered the phone, and only 3-4 hours later, after about 7 or 8 messages did he finally return the calls. And then he claimed that none of it was his fault much like the two other reviewers said.
Imagine this, the tux rental place you're using for your wedding gives you the wrong size tuxes. You're getting married the next day and he won't return your calls, and then when he does, he says it's not his fault. Do you want this to happen to you? It will if you use King's Tux.
On top of this, when it was time to take the tuxes back there was a small scheduling issue with the photographer which meant the tuxes would need to be dropped off by someone who lived i the area (me) rather than spend a lot to overnight them back. This was not a problem until it was time to find out their hours of operation so that I could get them back in time. I called over and over, at least 8 times, as did the groom, to try and find out when they closed. After 4 or 5 hours of leaving messages while driving he finally picked up the phone and was extremely rude to me and didn't say a word to me when I dropped them off.
The worst part of all was that the tuxes were very poor quality and lost buttons, burst seams, and did not fit as they should have. You would be better off making your own tux from scratch.
King's Tux is not in the tux business, they're in the business of RUINING WEDDINGS.
Worst tux rental experience ever!. The tuxes were way too expensive ($180.00) and one of the groomsmen along with the groom both had buttons that popped off, while the jackets were unbuttoned! The owner never answered his phone and would not call back for hours. Since this was a destination wedding the need for open communication was a must. Also there were two pairs of pants that had to be hemmed because they were 2+ inches too long. And a jacket (44 Regular) was sent for a man well over 6 feet 6 inches whose measurements clearly indicated 52 Long! Not at all what you would expect for that kind of money.
