great burger and sides. my husband and i went there for lunch on the weekend. at first i was overwhelmed by the massive list of choices listed, but i found their california burger. i didn't want the onions that were in the guacamole, so they substituted slices of fresh avocado - wonderful! my husband ordered the south street philly burger. we both enjoyed our burgers. for sides we ordered sweet potato fries and beer battered onion rings. both were great, the onion rings were AMAZING!! best i have ever had! we were stuffed, so we didn't get a chance to try their shakes or desserts. it was nice to be given the choice to sit outside. i disagree w/the previous review - this was much higher quality than anything i've had at round robin...in fact, i'll probably never go back to a round robin now that i've found this place!

at least the bun was toasted. UPDATE: I've been there twice recently, mostly because of the Painted Hills beef, the quality is still there. The wait staff isn't. Not sure where they were but I have been there three times now and the wait staff is always atrocious. All special orders are still ignored and they'd do better to send you your food with a slingshot.

Previous review:

I'd like to say this concept is a good one: Place your order at the counter and have the staff bring it out. This IS a great concept if you are McDonalds and charging 99 cents for a burger. But when you're charging $7 for a burger and $5 for a salad this is a terrible idea. There's this place called Red Robin, you may have heard of it? Anyway imagine the same prices with lower quality food and no service and you know what you'll get at the Blazing Onion. And, oh yeah, the fries were undercooked and cold and the Hamburger was tasteless. But the bun WAS toasted and was actually pretty good albeit a REALLY expensive hamburger bun.

So they have a good wine list and live music on Friday/Saturday night (occasionally?). This actaully adds to the disjointed atmosphere and makes it a kind of hodge-podge of weirdness.

What were the owners thinking? You don't want to know.
