so-so

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant for my birthday, since I had been craving tapas. I should mention that my first experience with tapas was in Mexico, where they were excellent, with a diverse range of options, and cheap. So needless to say, I had high expectations. This restaurant had a cozy ambiance, though the menu was a bit small. Mostly paella options, a couple entrees, salads, a short list of tapas and raciones. Our waiter seemed a little distracted, and kept forgetting the specials, and was a little pushy about my bf ordering wine. After we ordered the tomato and crab salads and a few tapas, I requested to receive the tapas before the salads....at which the waiter seemed very confused. Maybe he was inexperienced? The tomato salad with tortellini was flavorful, but nothing exceptional. The crab salad my bf ordered was very tasty, as well as the chorizo sausage tapas, though the crust on the bread which comes with it was soggy and salty. The dates wrapped in turkey bacon seemed like something I could fry up at home, and the bombas was one meatball on a small bed of lettuce and sauce (~$3). For dessert we shared the flan-like custard, which consisted of two small, but delicious custards covered in caramel sauce.

I would consider going here again to try the paella and sangria, but overall the food was mediocre and overpriced.

Not honest

The waiter(or owner or maybe manager) charged us the whole bottle of wine and didn't really apologize. Almost seems like he did it on purpose. He was not really polite and didn't treat us nice. He insisted to order the whole bottle but we didn't want to get drunk so only a glass for each of us. Then he gave us very small We ordered Paella and it wasn't as good as the one I had in San Jose, CA. The atmosphere was OK not super great but their dishes aren't cheap where the quality is just OK. I don't want to go back because the service was poor and the food was just OK.

• Cons: OK food but bad/dishonest service and pricy - who wants to eat here?

Seattle neighborhood restaurant makes you feel like you are in Spain.

This neighborhood restaurant provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The Spanish chef is also the co-owner, along with his wife. He creates remarkable food with a genuinely exotic feel, including lovely salads, wonderful seafood, and unusual and authentic dishes that are fun to try. His wife serves as hostess and provides personal and friendly service and great information on the food, the specials, and the wine list. We have visited many times and always found this restaurant to be a special place, whether for a glass of wine and an appetizer or for a full meal. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Spanish cuisine in a relaxing environment conducive to conversation, socializing, and enjoyment of life.

I have never been to Barcelona. Gaudi gives me a taste of the tapas culture. I recommend the tomato salad, the heart of palm salad, the salt-cured tuna, and the mussels on the half shell. Order the specials --the chef is not just phoning this in, he is passionate. It is true there is no ?bread service?. Get over it. It will be an out of culture experience. We have returned many times; sometimes for a glass of wine and tapas; sometimes for special occasions. Your loss is our gain.
