Best Place for our Dogs. Lucky Dog Resort is the best place to leave your dogs when you go on vacation. We have two doxie dogs: One is blind and deaf and the other one has had back problems. Melissa and Greg take care of Buddy and Jasmine as if they were there own dogs. I use to always worry about leaving them with friends but now I have peace of mind that my dogs are being loved and taking care of when I am gone.…
Lucky Mom, Lucky Doggies.
We work from home, so our 2 rat terriers are always with us. That being said, it was tough to have them boarded for a week while we were in Hawaii.
Lucky me that I found Lucky Dog Resort. After my initial tour, I was pleasantly surprised with the way Melissa & Greg keep their "resort". It is clean and tidy, the big dogs are separated from the little dogs, both when kenneled and when they are outside during playtime. I have seen too many dog daycare/boarding facilities that are messy, if not downright dirty.
Melissa clearly knows what she's doing. They have 6' fences around the play yard, plus rollers on top so dogs can't jump over, and nothing, including coyotes can get in.
Plus the kenneled areas are warm, with carpet on the floors, not cement, the kennels have privacy screens so neighbors can't bother each other.
I felt totally secure knowing my precious "fur babies" would be taken care of while we were out of town.
You won't be sorry taking your pups here!…
Not a Fan.. At first I thought this place would be great since they advertised that they had 5 acres but they only allowed the dogs to play in an area that was smaller than my back yard. It is super clean which was nice since you always want the best for your pet, however I did not like how fast they would rush you in and out of the place. I wanted to go over some things before our dogs stay, but they didn’t seem to pay attention or really care. I should have taken that as a warning sign. I believe they want to have a great place for dogs to stay while you are away from home, but do not take your pets/family members their if you are not comfortable with someone watching them who does not have experience with dogs and understanding the breeds. I would recommend taking your pet to a place that are professional at animal care. I think if something were to ever go wrong or your pet gets sick or hurt, they wouldn’t know how to handle it since they are still newbie’s at pet sitting and know nothing yet about animal care.…
Spectacular doggie paradise.
When we got our dogs back they seemed even more playful and healthy than when we dropped them off. Melissa obviously knows and loves dogs and I wouldn't trust anyone else with mine! (Including some
of my close friends!) I look forward to the next time they get to take another dachshund-vacation at Lucky Dog Resort!
There's room to run and places to dig. Lots of playtime and no unbalanced/aggressive dogs allowed!…
Would not recomend.
Yes this place is clean and secure.
However, four hours after dropping off my dog I got a call from the owner saying that my dog was barking and she could not handle it if he continued. She also said that she put something on his face to quiet him down but he ripped it off. She then gave him some sort of sedative. I thought it was very inappropriate to do that without my permission.
Luckily our dog stopped barking, so we did not have to make plans to have him picked up. Her inability to deal with barking really made me question her ability to deal with a more serious situation.
When I got my dog back he was yellow (normally very white) and smelled bad. This might be expected from boarding a dog. I am not sure as this was my first time.…
