Hmmm....That negative review was surprising. I have shopped at precocious many times and have never had a bad experience. The owner is warm and helpful, offering ideas about gifts. My kids played on the riding toys the entire time. Other children were playing in the back area with dolls, strollers and kitchen toys. The only kids crying were the ones that had to leave. That nasy review sounds like sour grapes from one of the competitors loyal customers. I'm all for loyalty, but bashing another store is pretty low.

Pros: convenience, service, variety, service, parking

My 2 year old wanted to ride a toy they had out and he was told no. If you don't want kids to play with the toys don't have them out. In fact don't have a toy store! Edited 2/23/08 Oh this certainly did happen, though I'm pleased to hear that they have taken measures to ensure that it does not happen again. As to my commitment to other shops, my experience here cemented my dedication to shopping at other stores. Luckily there are other options. Good luck in you venture, but you'll be better off in the future by being nicer to your customers

Response from this business

Please, ride the toys!

This review was surprising to all of us at Precocious. We have several types of riding toys on the floor for children to try. We encourage people to give our riding toys a whirl. We even show them how they work by demonstrating them ourselves. Our store has two levels with a ramp between them. We ask children to ride toys only on the lower level, for their safety. It's simply against store policy to tell a child not to ride a toy that is on display. We have made this clear again to all staff members, in case there was any confusion.
