Not a complainer.... Not really a complainer. In fact, I had to creat an acount just to talk about my experience with this bakery. My boyfriend bought three different cupcakes to bring home. I was excited, but very disappointed after trying all of the cupcakes. More so, when I called the bakery to let them know that the cupcakes where dry specially the lemon flavor. The man that I spoke to over the phone didn't seem to care much about what I had to say. I meant well and nicely told them how their cupcakes tasted. I was not asking for a refund or anything, but mostly for acknowleding me as a customer :)

Fantastic Cake. It was pouring rain (duh, in Seattle) and I ran into Sugar for a cup of coffee, but I found a great bakery. They also had little cupcakes, but I didn't have room to try one. Their staff was really friendly and I felt pretty lucky to have found this cool place.

This friendly First Hill confectionery owned by self-taught baker Stephanie Crocker and her husband John McCaig invites passers-by with its mouthwatering baked goods and pink-striped interior that resembles the inside of a cake box. During her stint at neighborhood farmers' markets, Crocker learned the art of simple sweet and savory pastries made with fresh wholesome ingedients and no preservatives. Signature items include hand-pressed shortbread, cinnamon brioche, red velvet cupcakes, various tiramisu, marshmallows and miniature desserts.

Hits: Fresh pastries are made on-site and replenished throughout the day.

Misses: Parking is a challenge in the area. Opt to walk or take public transportation if possible.
