In Short
This family-owned restaurant serves up dishes inspired by the southwest region of Italy. Tucked into northern Ballard, the restaurant looks like a neighborhood home from the outside and offers guests an intimate dining experience inside, where the stereo gently plays Italian music as a backdrop to the meal. Patrons can eat at one of many tables nestled in warm, quaint corners through the multilevel eatery, or at the restaurant's cozy bar.

When we first stopped in here it was on a whim, with no reservations. It felt cosy as soon as we walked in. The hostess immediately took us upstairs to a romantic table for two looking down to the first floor. We were presented with a wonderful affordable wine menu. The server was well educated on the wines and offered a great suggestion. The menu was so hard to choose from. We ordered two selections when we usually share one because we could not decide. As we waited for dinner, the server brought warm bread and olive oil. When the food arrived it had a simple yet elegant presentation and looked delicious. We spent the next 1/2 hour or so moving back and forth between each others plates. The portions were large and the leftovers made a great lunch the next day. We saved room for dessert which was again hard to choose from but decided on a simple tiramasu. Excellent! All in all, it was a simple, delicious meal with great service.

My husband and I are regulars at this wonderful, italian restaurant in an old cozyhouse. We love the warm staff and environment (although we can do without the singing duo that appears some nights- ay!). While the overall menu is good, the pastas are the best in the area. Warm bread, good service. The sauces are perfect- especially for the tortollini, linguine w/ clam, gnocci and ravioli. The veal dishes are also nice. We have also enjoyed some nice wines there. We recommend weekday nights, its quieter.

Unless you can't afford 60 bucks for a great, intimate dinner for 2 (maybe more/less depending on wine)- this place is outstanding. We had a great caprese salad, followed by two great pasta dishes (gnochi and penne pasta). The service was outstanding and the decor reminded us of our trip to Florence. Again, if you live in this area, this is a must visit!
