Affordable International Cuisine!. Some friends and I recently decided to dine at Habesha on a whim. When we entered we were delighted by the ambiance of the restaurant. The modern decor and art creates a classy yet comfortable setting. While very modern and clean Habesha maintains it's ethnic heritage. We were promptly seated, and the staff was great! There was a very large table seated right before us, and our food still came out in a reasonable amount of time.

The food was terrific! Two of our guest said the kitfo was the best they had ever tried! There was a pleasant spice to everything, and the portions are very generous.

Between the wonderful staff, and the great food I would say Habesha is a must do! Love it!

Citysearch Editorial Review. No longer do you need to choose between Ethiopian food or a high-end restaurant worthy of date night—this Belltown eatery offers both. The long room is dark and romantic, understated and yet dotted with accents—baskets, paintings, etc.—that don’t let the diner forget what type of restaurant it is. The back wall holds the reasonably sized wine list that includes a variety of locations including local wines and Ethiopian honey wines. A full bar provides a great cocktail selection, while the kitchen turns out many of the same dishes you’ll find at other Ethiopian joints (think lots of injera, curried veggies and stewed meats to eat with your hands), with the addition of a few more appetizers and desserts to help make this into a higher level dining experience. Impressively, the stepped up ambiance and beverage selection don’t translate to enormously inflated prices, making Habesha a great place to go for a fancy night without a fancy check.

Not bad. It would be great to have a buffett where you get all you could eat for $10.00 and leave it at that and also have water with "gas". Serve food with bread.

Waste of time & money. Can I give less than a 1 star rating???? I now know why there was plenty of parking in front of the restaurant and no wait.....the food bites. We ordered the vegetarian plate and beef tibs. The beef tibs didn't have very much meat- it was mostly sauce. We left with a bad taste in our mouth and definitely won't eat there again.

Pros:

The restaurant was very clean. Great ambiance. Good service.

Cons:

The food is terrible. Bad food quality.

Great Food Great Price. We had the lunch buffet. Its a small buffet cart, but everything on the cart tasted great. I ate till I could eat no more. I will definitely return!

Delicious Food with a Gorgeous Presentation. I've been craving Ethiopian food ever since my friend took me to Habesha. I'd never had Ethiopian food before, so she coached me on how to eat it (no silverware, you use your hands.) Even though I'm not vegetarian, I ordered the vegetarian option, and was thrilled! We each ordered a different dish, and I ordered a salad to share. I'm glad I did! It was all so delicious, but some of it was a little bit spicy for me, so the salad helped with the heat of the seasonings (no 1-5 star scale, here.) It was so good, and the servings are generous, so there was enough for 2, plus leftovers for 1. Overall, this had to have been one of the most enjoyable new eating experiences ever. The casual nature of eating with your hands makes for a great ice-breaker; I'd recommend Habesha for a first date, or a casual meal with friends. Also, try the iced coffee. Dee-lishus.

Great lunchtime spot. Habesha's a great place to go for lunch. For less than $10, you get an all-you-can-eat buffet with delicious Ethiopian cuisine. The service is good--you're seated immediately, the staff are around to answer questions you have about dishes, and they are very attentive.
