We got there and there was maybe a few people at the bar (regulars because they knew everyone there) and seemed like we were the only ones in the dining area. We ordered our food and it took FOREVER. Considering there were few people, i would think i wouldn't take as long but i was wrong. The pasta was okay but it was dessert that got us. It took over 25mins to get dessert. I live near by and love trying new places but this one is out of my books. No wonder its so empty whenever I walk by (which is almost every day)
This place is still great. We dined here 10/8/09 as we heard Ashley Merriman is soon leaving as exec chef. The food is great, the radicchio salad I ordered was flavorful and substantial. My rabbit gnocchi had more rabbit than the pillowy potato dumplings but that is not a serious complaint. The beignets with sour cherry jam and creme Anglaise was sublime! Best dessert I've had in recent memory. My husband's pappardelle bolognese is a fine example of that dish and he enjoyed the mixed green salad. Service was pitch perfect, not too invasive but attentive. Even the busser knew exactly when to pour water and clear dishes. This is what I expect when I want upscale dining and the bill was less than what we've paid at equivalent eateries.
Still getting it done!.
I,ve been to Branzino a few times now and have never been disappointed with any aspect of this trendy spot.
I'm not one to review a restaurant to often, but Branzino has been open for about 6 months and is still producing top class innovative food with a constantly changing menu. From the wood fired pizzas to the signature bass which the restaurant is named after you can't go wrong.Yummy cocktails too!
Still working out the kinks but worth the wait!!.
It was a Friday night and they were very busy and the entry way is very small so we were packed in there for a little while waiting for our table but the staff was friendly and keep us informed of how long the estimated wait would be. The food on the other hand was wonderful and once we were seated to was the service. I had a glass of white wine with the 3 cheese plater appetizer and a glass of red wine with the main course. I had the Branzino (to die for) and my husband had the Lamb Sausage very good as well with a side of brussle sprouts (if you don't like them you should try these). For dessert we shared the pear tart.
Highy recommend!!
