Arctic Club Catering / Event Planning team is horrible.......... We are in the process of planning a 2009 spring wedding. My bride to be and I have been speaking with many of the upper tier hotels in the downtown area for availability, pricing information, etc.... At the other venues the Catering /event planning teams have bent over backwards to make us feel as if they really want our business, quick responses to our e-mail and phones calls, significant time on the phone answering our questions, late evening tours of the facalities, etc...

Our communication with Arctic Club started out as a pretty standard e-mail exchange. Things quickly started to go down hill after that. I called and spoke with the wedding coordinator who after telling me that our date was available, told me he was not authorized to discuss pricing information or the planning process.. He scheduled an appointment with the DIrector of Catering the next day.

The next day we called at the designated time to discuss our quesitons with the Director of Catering. She did not anwser her phone. We called back 5 mins later, still no answer. We called the front desk who transfered us to someone else who was not answering their phone. We finally got in touch with the hotel manager who tracked down the Director of Catering for us. When we were connected to the director there was apology for being late or for wasting close to 20 mins of our time tracking her down. She was sounded very frustrated and very short in her answers. She quickly told us the date we had confirmed the day before was no longer available and ended the call. If this is how they treat potential customers I can only imagine what treatment we would have gotten once they had us obligated through a contract.

Weddings and receptions are very expensive. There are plenty of venues in the Seattle area that are happy to have your business and do a wonderful job of making you feel good about discussing their venues. I would highly suggest staying away from Arctic Club, weddings are stressful enough.

Editorial Review. Refinished to honor its Klondike Gold Rush heritage, the Arctic Club Hotel brings the glamour of the early twentieth century back to Downtown Seattle.
