Diamond in the rough.
When I first visited this place I thought "Is this someones house?" but don't let the outward appearance deter you from entering this elegantly decorated restaurant. The interior decor is beautiful with interesting little details everywhere you look, including the table settings (even the S+P shakers). The food is served in equally grand plateware and has a fresh and authentic taste. We had the chicken satay, chicken phad thai, seafood fried rice, and chicken tofu curry with jasmine rice and everything was excellent! On top of all of that the price was very reasonable (especially with a 10% discount for students) at only $12 per person including tip. I would suggest this place to anyone and will be sure to visit again myself. This would be a perfect place for a dinner date without breaking your wallet.

Great food, great service, beautiful decor.
After sampling dozens of Thai restaurants in the Seattle area I was blown away with the quality of food and ambience at this cozy little restaurant in Des Moines. Where most Thai restaurants in the area think Thai food equates to soggy Phad Thai or greasy fried rice, this restaurant shows us what subtle, complex flavors and fresh ingredients cooked in a Thai style can be. I loved the summer rolls, the King of Herbs and even the Thai Iced Coffee tasted better than most other places I've been. The ambience is elegant, yet comfortable and the owner Tanya is absolutely fabulous. She even plays piano between taking orders and delivering them! This is a great neighborhood restaurant where everyone can get good food and a friendly experience. I highly recommend it and will be going back often!

By Far THE BEST Thai Food In The Seattle Area.
My Boyfriend and I stumpled upon the Suthanya Thai Renaissance completely by accident. We were totally blown away by the ambiance and service from the moment we opened the front door! We were greeted by the beautiful and intelligent owner. Seated and treated like royalty the entire way through our meal. It was a very special surprise, when the owner, our server, sat down at the baby grand in the middle of the restaurant and played us some very romantic piano music!!! I don't even know how to describe the decor, it is elegent and unusually fancy, especially for a Thai restaurant, this makes it extra special! Yet at the same time, the atmosphere doesn't feel stuffy in any sort of way. Just when we thought it wasn't possible for our experience at this restaurant to get any better, our food was served. I have eaten at a Iot of Thai restaurants and I have never had Thai food this delicious, inventive or fresh. I believe she even grows her own herbs and spices. This restaurant is a MUST!

Best Thai food I ever had!!.
This is the best Thai food I ever had in my life!! Very friendly, rich and luxurious ambience. The waitress played the piano between her service, she always had a beautiful smile and very friendly. The food tasted so good, cooked with fresh ingredients every course of the meal from apetizer to desert was very fresh, cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. I have been to many Thai restaurants in and around seattle and even in different parts of the US, but this tops my list among all the restaurants. A place I would love to go again and again!! They made this a memorable Christmas lunch!!
