Taste of Italy in Seattle.
Going out to lunch on a work day has its ups and downs. The upside is you get out of the office. Down side, you get into a routine of five or so restaurants that, can't go wrong but after a while, leave you with a hankering for something new.
Today, I found that something new. Picolinos.
Tucked away in Ballard on 32nd Avenue is the best Italian food I have ever tasted. The friendly wait staff sat my friend and I down, letting us know the specials of the day whilst setting down a basket of homemade, fluffy focaccia bread and fresh pesto sauce. I soon realized I was eating my way through the white clouds, up to heaven.
Ordering a Prosciutto Crudo Pizzette and the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, we found ourselves in heaven. Raving about the airy, fresh tomato sauce, pizza crust that is fluffy and not too thin, and the homemade pasta that is cooked to perfection.
The dishes are family style so I recommend getting a couple dishes and sharing with your friends and family. After all, isn't that what the Italian lifestyle is all about? Ciao!
Great Addition to Sunset Hill. I have had several very positive experiences at Picolinos in the dining room - great authentic pasta and pizzas, but I'm even more partial to the coffeeshop - really well made drinks and yummy pastries.
Authentic Italian dining; neighborhood atmosphere. Just had lunch at Picolinos and it was the best Italian food we've eaten in Seattle, without exception. We've spent lots of time in Italy and it feels very European. Great place for holiday dinners and parties with a separate party room, bar room, and restaurant. Can't wait to go back. The pasta is exceptional.
Great Place. The food here is really good. Great flavors. The pizzas are just a bit soggy. I think another 60-90 seconds in the oven would make them perfect. Great service and atmosphere.
Great food. I went in last weekend I had one of the best experiences I have had in a long time. My wife had gnocchi bolognese and I had a pizza. I heard they have a new pizza chef from Italy so I wanted to try it. The pizza was incredibly good- like Italy! and my wife loved her gnocchi. Thank you guys!!!
