Usually it's the two of us; once or twice we went with friends and family; and a couple of times my husband went by himself. Each time, the experience has been the same: good sushi, poor service. Examples of poor service: Waitress seats the two of us, then gives us one menu and - worse - one set of chopsticks to share, and immediately runs away before we can even open our mouth to remind her that there are two people in our party. Or, waiter runs right past you and ducks into the kitchen as you keep calling him. The waitstaff will smile at you as they serve you - when you finally manage to get their attention - but they are snooty and condescending as they do their work. To us, no matter how good the food is, this kind of service ruins the experience of eating out, so I'm giving the restaurant one star. If I was rating only the food, I would probably give four stars.
Not so awesome. I'm from Hawaii and everyone there raves about Genki. So when one opened here I thought I'd give it a try. My cousin recommended the spicy tuna and that was the only thing that was good. The nigiri sushi of tuna was stringy and appeared to have been previously frozen. It was cheap, I'll give it that but not worth the disappointment. Will not be going back.
